Let's travel together #35 - Scarisoara Ice Cave (Ghetarul de la Scarisoara)

The discovery of today is Scarisoara Ice Cave - the biggest underground glacier from Romania. This place is one of the most important caves from Romania being the 2nd biggest underground glacier in south-eastern Europe. šŸ†

The Scarisoara Ice Cave is located in the Apuseni Natural Park, one of the best mountains from Romania where you can visit a lot of treasures from our country. šŸŒ„

The ice is not melting during summers because of high altitude and also being maintained by a ventilation system. When you go down the stairs you will immediately feel the sudden change of temperature. ā„ļø

To visit the cave you will need to wait for a group of at least 10 people who will be handled by a guide. The visit is about 45 mins long and the costs are 11 RON for adults and 8 RON for the students. šŸ’ø

Personally, visiting this place in the middle of the summer when are about 40 degrees, is like paradise. The cold air breeze from this area is sooo amazing. šŸ˜
