Marilog District is located in Davao City, Philippines, one of the most abundant sources of water in Mindanao. It is also known for several waterfalls that can be visited. One of it is the Green Valley falls or known as the EPOL falls.
It is a 300m trek from the national highway and approximately almost an hour trek.

"EPOL" is an acronym which stands for "Everlasting Power Of Love".

So when we have reached at the camp site where we can set a tent and stay for a night, there was this "Bantay" (Filipino term) we called him "Kuya" (older brother) because he was the watcher of the falls. Then there's this tale, told by one of the Matigsalug tribe ancestors, according to him:
A long time ago, the falls has been the witness of a forbidden relationship of a lover. The falls were their secret spot, were they secretly meet each other. Because the father of the girl was so strict. But one day, the father found out about their relationship and took her away from him in that place. After that incident, the girl were never seen from that day on. The boy didn't where to find the girl. But what he did was, he was waiting and hoping that one day they'll meet each other, until he got old. Then one day, after a long years have passed, he saw an old woman sitting beside the falls. Then he approched it, when they saw each other, they cried and hugged each.

From ancestors to ancestors, the legend had been passed down. Then one day, there's this tourist have visited the place which was called before "Green Valley" because of the green surroundings.
But after he heard about the love story, and one of the native guide replied: it should be "Everlasting Power Of Love". Then after that, they called it "EPOL".
So yeah! I thought it was a horror story, because as he was telling it to us, i was getting chilled and scared. Maybe because of the temperature there? Coz it's literally cold. 😅😂
Well, everything was great. Me, my boyfriend, and my friends were having fun and enjoyed our selves in the nature.
