The driver was ok till he started to talk about taking me to buy a "thai jewelry", it got spooky!
About 29 degrees at 6 in the morning on arrival, the temperature at 9 o'clock was tolerable. Keep in mind though that malls in Bangkok open at 10 AM although coffee shops and hotel cafes abound. After my lotus photoshoots, I was very eager to wander for more.
Rice cakes and desserts anyone?
I wasn't sure about the white stuff in the cup prior to putting the fresh egg but it's a drink!
Suk Road is very commercialised but doesn't look as the high end part of Bankok. It is very similar to some corners of Manila where locals can be seen going to work and buying their lunches. There were few western nationalities in coffee shops, as well as few of them passing through with an Asian woman in tow. A couple of small markets were seen as well, as well as 7-11's.
Nana Road the place to be!
Did i say that Bangkok is full of fruit stands? Reaching NANA, that's an understatement. Rows and rows of fruit stands can be seen, with some stalls equipped with blender machines for smoothies! Anyone is spoilt for choice. I did get some slices of dragon fruit for $ .50 and a chilled young coconut juice for a dollar, not bad for an early lunch in the heat!
Bangkok street food
Who doesn't want an authentic thai food? Pad thai! In London, thai restaurants are everywhere, including being venues for leaving-do parties. Some even do home deliveries...i know, we used to order from our previous workplace.
Fresh from the pan!
Feast your eyes!
Fish balls & hotdogs!
I swear i've never taken so many food shots in my whole life! Throughout the whole time, it felt like i was testing each dish i was seeing so no wonder, my appetite couldn't handle more than a dragon fruit and a coconut juice. One thing is certain, thai coconut juice are sweeter than ours in the Philippines. The thing here is that, this sweetness overpowers the coconut taste, in contrast to the Philippines, the taste is purely that of a fresh coconut juice.
Am i biased? Most probably! But i'm very particular with our own coconuts.
