We still remember the day when a great earthquake struck Tohoku Japan on 11 March 2011, causing big tsunami that destroyed many towns and cities along the east coasts.
One of the stopover of this winter trip, we visited the Sendai 3.11 Memorial Community Center. This small permanent memorial is located within the Metro station, Arai, along the Sendai Metro line.
The center showcased detailed timeline of the disaster, as well as the support and recovery efforts by the people and community.
