My EPIC Journey to and through Ecuador 🇪🇨! Part 3 Natural Birth of Baby Qinoku at the Bus Staion

After three long hours of discomfort and contractions we finally arrived at the bus station in manta. @inokalrutz got off the bus and went straight to the restroom.

Meanwhile @quinneaker and I were unloading the bags from the bus.

As soon as Inok came back out to the bus she started going into full blown labor.

within 15 mins baby Qinoku was born.

Everybody around could hear Inok pushing the baby out so by the time he was born there were about 50 people surrounding us.

Recording and taking photos

Everybody in awe.

Not long after he popped out the ambulance and police showed up.

The EMT talked to Inok along time about how he felt she needed to go to the hospital. She was very clear that she did not want to go to the hospital. But he was very insistent that she at least go to a medical center to get checked out.
She agreed to go if she wouldn't be forced to do anything by the doctors. Inok felt it was a good idea to get some paper work about the birth so that getting a passport for the baby would be a smooth and easy process.

They loaded her up in the ambulance with @quinneaker and the girls.
I stayed behind at the bus station with all of the luggage.

A police officer came over to ask how he could help me. I told him I needed to find a way to get in contact with the ambulance driver so that I could communicate with @quinneaker about what to do with all of our luggage.
Communicating with the officer was quite a challenge, he spoke no English and i very very little Spanish. Within less than ten minutes the ambulance was back. The ambulance driver helped me load all of our stuff into the ambulance and we headed to the medical center.

(The birth happened right behind the orange cone under the #9 sign, a number associated with birth. This photo was taken in the ambulance leaving the birth sight after it had cleared)
When we arrived I went straight inside to see how inok and the baby were doing. The ambulance driver assured me that all of our stuff was safe in the locked ambulance.

Inok was on the table and the girls were hanging out with @quinneaker.

There were about 7 people helping inok and the baby, they kept telling her that she needed to stay there at the medical center until she and the baby were stable. The were worried that she was loosing too much blood.

They didn't do anything to the baby except for dress him. No cutting of the cord, or for skin.

First time to be help by daddy @quinneaker

First time to be held by Noki

We we're planing on staying in a hostel that night. Inok was extremely hungry and wanted to be left alone to rest.

It was late and we had no idea where we were going to stay and the doctor and all the assistants kept asking us to stay the night there.
We agreed to stay if they would get us some food and leave us alone to rest.

Quinn's delivery suit

They brought us some really yummy food and left us alone for the rest of the night

The next morning before leaving we waited for the hospital to do a bunch of paperwork.
The ambulance and a police truck offered to take us to a hostel. 🚑🚓

We loaded all of our luggage into the police truck and all of us piled into the ambulance and headed to our hostel
