Relaxing Holiday?
This is a holiday right? A chance for a well earned relaxing trip to get away from the stresses of what we know as the "daily grind".
So, first thing in the morning yesterday, we decided to kick off the day's relaxation with a 3 mile (5km) run around some of the coves!

Poldark's Coast
Our nearest beach called "Poldhu Cove" hadn't even woken up yet but that made for a nice empty beach to run around before continuing on to Gunwalloe Church Cove. If that sounds familiar to some of you, maybe the words "Poldark" and "BBC Drama" will help refresh your memory as this is where some of the scenes were filmed. I personally haven't watched a single episode of the drama but my Mum has (and most females probably have as well), mainly due to the allure of the main character himself, who's definitely a pin-up but I'll leave that discussion for someone else!

Mullion Golf Club
Once we got back from the run, my other two travelling buddies headed off for a round of golf on the Mullion Golf Course, which is very nearby and is known as a "links course", where the holes aren't clearly separated and it's very open so you have to be a good shot, or have a lot of balls handy! I'm not a golfer but I have done a previous walk across the public footpath that dissects the course and the views are pretty special so there's something there for everyone.
Parish Church of St. Winwaloe
I took this opportunity to go back to the Gunwalloe Cove and get some snaps of the surrounding views, as well as venture out to another cove that I saw last year, which is less well known, in fact, I don't think it even has a name, but it is situated on the South West Coast Path.

It's a little bit quieter on this beach compared to Poldhu Cove, maybe because there isn't much else other than the beach and sea. There used to be a working building of some sort but it has fallen in to disrepair and I doubt that anything will be done to it as it's still got all the safety barriers up from last year.

The waves here are usually pretty decent and I saw some surfers making use of it. However, if you are going to venture out then be careful because there is no coast guard on duty here. There is one house that overlooks this little secluded beach and I don't know how much longer it will be there as the cliff is moving dangerously close with the sea eroding it. I'd love to stay there at some point but seems a little overkill for one person seeing as it can accommodate up to 9 people! Who wants to come along?

Marconi Centre
As I made my way back to our cottage, I walked past a monument which was built to commemorate the efforts of Marconi and his team at the Poldhu Wireless Station, which we found out about previously from our walk around the Lizard but the Marconi centre will be well worth a visit.

More Vortex Misery
Following a short and sad life from the previous one, Hammad and Wheeler (friends who I'm on holiday with) decided to invest in another vortex. Awesome! Cue a few throws in the front garden, some being more misplaced than others and landing on the stony driveway, and within no time at all, the tail of the vortex had snapped off.
I'm beginning to think they haven't thought through the design of these things but then I also realise that these toys are probably aimed at kids and families for use on the beach, not "big kids" launching it as hard as they can at each other on stony driveways!
Enter Wheeler and his "Vortex Repair Body Shop" - armed with a roll of Selotape, there's nothing this man can't do (to repair Vortexes at least). Now we have a modified version which we think is fit for purpose on all terrains - I'll think you'll agree judging from the picture below:

Catch you soon!
