Welcome to my Travel Adventures #3 | Throwback to our first day in Phuket, Thailand
This was our first time visiting Thailand in celebration of our honeymoon in October 2017. We decided to stay at a resort in Phuket for the duration of our trip, but I'll definitely be back in the future to explore the rest of this beautiful country and all that Thailand has to offer.
We stayed at Novotel Surin Beach Resort as we managed to get a really good deal on the entire stay with food, drinks and daily massages included. They even organised private transfers to and from the airport when we arrived in Phuket and when we were on our way home from this amazing holiday.
Walking into the resort, we were greeted with refreshing lemongrass tea and cold face towels to wipe that airport travel fatigue off our faces. We decided to treat ourselves and booked ourselves into a 3 hour Perfect Pamper massage at the resort spa. We were indulged with a 60-minute body scrub (Jasmine scrub for me; Green tea scrub for Ben), followed by a hot shower and a 2-hour full body lotion massage. We were truly relaxed and ready for the rest of our holiday to begin. After our massage, our room was ready for us to drop off all our belongings and freshen up before dinner.
Towel Swans!
The room was cozy yet spacious at the same time and we were lucky to have a room with a private outdoor area that led directly to an outdoor pool. It was pretty damn humid most of the time so we usually kept the doors closed while we were in the room.
We had a private cabana beach dinner planned for the first night at the beautiful Thavorn Beach Village Resort as we watched the sunset over the ocean.

Dinner Time!
The views, the sunset and the atmosphere were perfect and the ocean was so calm and serene. As the sky changed from blue to that beautiful sunset hue our dinner feast began. We started off with Satay Chicken, Papaya Salad and Seafood Tom Yum Soup - one of my favourite salads and soups of all time.
Next, we were served some Thai Beef Salad, Pad Thai and Green Chicken Curry with Rice. These dishes were average, nothing that would blow your mind but they satisfied our food cravings of all those classic token Thai dishes.
Dessert Time!
We finished off our feast with classic dessert dishes of Mango and Sticky Rice and Coconut Ice Cream. These are such simple dishes but were really delicious and perfect way to end our meal and to fill up our second dessert stomachs.
We made our way back to our resort and called it a night as the fatigue was definitely catching up to us, especially in combination with the food coma we put ourselves into. We hadn't explored the whole resort yet but from our initial impressions, it was a lovely resort. Definitely family friendly though with a lot of in-house resort activities to choose from.
Our massage and the beach cabana dinner were the highlights of our first day in Phuket. The beach dinner was definitely an experience I would recommend to other couples as it was really beautiful to watch the sunset as were spoilt with Thai food.
That's all for our first day in Thailand. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you in the next part of our Travel Adventure to Thailand.
