Travel with Tara : Wakheena falls, Oregon, USA

The first falls on the Columbia River highway coming from Troutdale, Oregon is the Wakheena Falls. It's not a huge single fall like the Multnomah or the Latourell. Wakheena just flows freely.

The trail begins right from the historic Columbia River Gorge highway. It's a long trail and involves a lot of walking. The trail starts with some beautiful stonework and a wooden bridge over Wahkeena Creek. I love this waterfall because every step towards the fall is just so beautiful. Right where the trail begins, you will notice a beautiful creek.
Here's a picture of the creek.

Just love how the colorful leaves are sprinkled all over the stream!

Wahkeena Falls is one of the more popular destinations in the gorge. The fall colors make it look prettier.

Wakheena falls, Oregon

According to lore, Wakheena means 'most beautiful'. Well, I'm not arguing with that. Although I do like Multnomah better.

There are beautiful rock walls and better views the higher you climb. You could get really close to the waterfall and get sprayed. That is so much fun! The walk up to the falls is also a pleasant one surrounded by the serene and peaceful green forest.
That's me! All about peace!
