Rhodope Mountains, Bulgaria.
Do you believe that a few hundred people can go camping in the mountain together, have a festival with all the shouting, music, cooking, running, jumping, climbing, swimming and doing... wait for it... of course all kinds of art workshops, without destroying the area. Without leaving even as much trash behind as a single family of normal folk. True story, I've seen both type of people there. By normal folk I mean those who do not care about the ecosystem.
The organizers of Beglika Fest and their visitors do care in general.
What is the Fest about? Enjoying Nature and being part of it without denying all that you are. As long as you avoid doing damage. Noise, being the worst thing that we bring to the forest. Otherwise, you could say the event has an educational aspect.
What can you do there?
If you are just a photographer you can lie to yourself that it is your job to photograph everything and everyone, you can get up early and with fingers almost frozen, you can try to capture the morning mists sliding over the water surface of the dam.
Or you can do what everybody else does and allow yourself to have some fun. If you still have a case of incurable early waking-up, you can join a yoga circle...
Or you can have a walk and pick some fresh herbs, make a tea or something...
You can gather some forest fruits, maybe...
Or you can just watch and referee an ant fight...
Or a human one...
You can go back and roll to sleep... oh wait, that is maybe another kind of yoga...
Or if you do not sleep at all, you can submerge in half and meditate...
They will wake you up again with music, anyway...
And they won't let you sleep until late at night...
They may throw things at you...
Or just throw things...
So that some people try to duck under each other...
While others practice some ninja deflecting techniques...
Well, they can't throw their cell phones forever, can they? There has to be time for relaxing activities such as basking in the sun, swimming, rowing, pushing, de-e-e-ep diving... wait, relaxing, let's go back to relaxing.
Or all out crazy bat sh*t!
There you can even witness some premeditated madness...
I mean, so much stuff going on, one gets hungry. But one still has no time to sit down, because one must walk a slack line. You just have to. You can't go there and refuse to walk the slack line.
Until you are so tired you fall asleep despite all that you can still do. Just don't get attracted to huge fires that much...
Then, one morning you wake up and you know it's time to pack. You can't stay there forever, nobody does...
Oh, wait, except for those who live in the vicinity and the forest is their place of work since childhood. Welcome to reality - some people work while you pick up flowers.
At least you didn't start a fire or leave your trash behind, did you?
