Yangon: Awesome view from the Yangon Yangon Rooftop Bar!

The very first time in Yangon, the very first time in Myanmar. Yangon is not like the other big cities in Southeast Asia. Yangon does not necessarily have many skyscrapers or an impressive skyline such as Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Ho Chi Minh City. Generally, Yangon seems a little more relaxed. Nevertheless, there are great sky bars in Yangon, which are definitely worth a visit!

One of them is the Yangon Yangon Skybar. It is located on the roof terrace of the Sakura Tower, which is located directly on the Bogyoke Aung San Road. You can also look for the Sule Shangri-La Yangon Hotel on Google Maps, which is just next to it. Yangon Railway Station is nearby, too. Yangon's famous Sule Pagoda is located just a 10-minute walk away, so a visit can be wonderfully combined with it. Also, at the Sule Pagoda itself you have a really cool view from here.

The best way to visit the sky bar is in the late afternoon, about an hour before sunset. So you can enjoy the view both during the day, during the sunset and of course afterwards at night. You do not need to worry about free seats in the Yangon Yangon Skybar. When I was there, there were only a handful of guests. Half were tourists and the other half were locals and expats.

Admission costs 5000 kyat and a free drink is included, too. Also, all other drinks were not expensive and compared to many other skybars in Southeast Asian cities, even absolutely cheap. The staff was always very friendly.

Conclusion: I can only recommend a visit to the Yangon Yangon bar! A great way to end a long day of sightseeing in Yangon.
