Beşiktaş
Starting with a selfie in Beşiktaş, one of the older districts of the city, located on the European side.
Before sight-seeing, we had turkish breakfast which was so good!!
As you can probably tell, my friend Maja was in charge of taking selfies, haha.
Now we are ready to explore the streets of Beşiktaş! Here you can see my poor attempt to take a good picture of the flag.
This is an eagle statue that I found even more interesting because of the sleepy dog. :D
Mini market with a lot of fish, fruits and veggies.
Another street photo.
This dog was just sleeping at the entrance of the store and people were just so cool about it. Nobody was bothering him. I was, once again, fascinated by the way people treat animals in this city.
Probably the cutest cafe I've seen. It is so pretty and bright, it really stands out.
How cute?? :)
Golden Horn
There was so many of these cannon looking things, but I only managed to get two of them in a picture.
The coolest phone booth I've seen.
Sitting by the water is always so nice and calming even though it was quite crowded.
It was a cloudy day but we didn't get caught by the rain.
Golden Horn is an estuary made of two rivers and it also flows into Bosphorus.
There are five bridges coming across the Golden Horn and on our day 3 in Istanbul, we had a coffee on one of the bridges, which I will post about tomorrow.
Another selfie.
That's me - don't know what else to say about this photo.
Restaurant with a view
I'm sitting here, trying to remember the name of this restaurant but no, nothing comes to my mind... I wish I took a picture of the menu, that's something I do when I want to remember the name of the places I've visited.
Anyway, the view was really nice with all the boats that are going from one side to the other.
First coffee of the day was always turkish coffee, that is served with turkish delight. Since my friend doesn't like it, I had her's as well. :)
Enjoying my coffee with the view.
Pretty!
Going back to the apartment
Walking to the bus station alongside these beautiful red flowers where there is no crowd.
There was also a park with this monument that I took a picture off.
We also stopped by the mall, where my friend was looking for some thigns to buy. I had a Starbucks coffee that we don't have in Serbia yet but it will be opened soon. By the way, they wrote Lina instead of Nina, lol.
Dinner, pub and a club
One more selfie in our collection.
Kebab - this was one of my favorite foods I had. I wish I could have one right now!
Then we continued to the Joker pub, which is a very big place but also full of people, we could barely find a free table.
I really liked this place and I also got to try local beer called Bomonti.
On our way out from the pub, I saw this dog in the middle of the round sitting area. Seems like people and music didn't bother him at all.
Then we met up with the rest of the crew, sat down and had one more beer at the place next to the Joker pub, called Dorock.
Behind the scenes. :D
Then we moved from the sitting area to the club area and we danced all night long. There was a band playing live music and even though most of the songs were in Turkish, me and my friend had sooo much fun!
All that dancing got us hungry! We had some doner kebab, which I really liked but my friend didn't, haha.
I made a new friend and shared some of my kebab with him. <3
That is the end of day 2! I hope you enjoyed this post where you got to see a small part of Istanbul through my eyes.
