Good morning, Steemit Gladiators! It’s time for Trial by Comics. Our last theme was "Inktober". A few close Steemians warned me that I was crazy to pick this as a theme. I just spent three hours parsing all entries and admit, I may have gotten myself in over my head. Regardless, the art was top shelf, as always. The competition was fierce. Sadly, I haven’t been able to participate in Inktober, so I chose this theme in hopes of living vicariously through all of you. Without further adieu, here are this week’s winners of Trail by Comics!
FIRST PLACE! @jungwatercolor really set the bar this week with her entry, “Day 9/ Inktober / and entrance for Trial by Comics - Precious”. With the amount of entries for Inktober, to stand out took a great feat of exceptional talent, and @jungwatercolor did that. This inking reminds me of Michel Weyland’s Aria comic. One of my favorites growing up, so it found a soft spot in my comic heart. Congratulations, @jungwatercolor! 25.000 SBD coming to you.
SECOND PLACE! @jeffersom, once again, sitting on the winners podium with his entry “X /Entry 2/Trial by Comics / theme “Inktober”. I’m telling you, this entry almost took first place. I tried to not allow my Weapon X bias to influence my decision, but it seems like @jeffersom is becoming the Iron Bank of #trialbycomics winnings. Who is going to challenge this force of nature?! THIRD PLACE! @eliu does it again! Third place this week for his entry, “Batman and the chair of knowledge trialbycomics # 2”. I’m currently reading Batman: White Knight and this was a welcomed compliment. What a great rendition of the caped crusader. Congratulations @eliu! 5.000 SBD’s coming to you!
MERIT AWARDS! As always, there are far more entries to #trailbycomics than the three winners that must be chosen. The comics and art community here flourishes because of the sheer volume of creators and I like to take time to showcase some of the merit awards winners. Honorable mentions. Trial by Comics new theme is “Steemit Artist Interpretations”
A few months ago, I chose a theme, “Steemit Inspirational Artists”. It was an effort to get us to draw or paint in a style homaging our favorite Steemit artists. This is different. Now I want to see your interpretations of your favorite Steemit artists in your own style. Choose a Steemit artist and turn them in to your version of them as a comic book character. My example took @veryspider, who is well known to include her own cute rendition of herself with each Steemit post, and do my version of her. What did I discover? I can’t do “cute”. I could do a hybrid version of The Stalk, from Saga, as @veryspider in her dreaded sushi cave. You get the point, right?
