Our distant past still has many amazing secrets to reveal and none more fascinating than the story of the Annunaki. In this post we will delve into the question of where they allegedly came from and why they came to Earth.
So what do the Sumerian's say?

The interpretations of the Sumerian cuneiform tablets has been on going since their discovery in 1849. British archeologist Austin Henry Layard discovered 22,000 clay tablets in the Ancient Sumerian city of Nineveh, they are the oldest known writing created by the Sumerian's over 6000 years ago.
Zecharia Sitchin spent over 30 years translating the Sumerian cuneiform tablets and in his 1976 book The 12th Planet he claims that the cuneiform text describe an alien race called the 'Annunaki' who came to earth from a yet undiscovered planet in our solar system, beyond Neptune called Nibiru.
The Ancient drawings include Neptune, Uranus and Pluto, amongst other planetary bodies. Interestingly Neptune was not discovered until 1846, Uranus in 1781 and Pluto wasn't discovered until 1930.
The Sumerian's were well aware that the planets revolved around the Sun however this was not spoken of again until Copernicus in the 16th century!
What do the text say about Nibiru? Why did the Annunaki come?
The text below is from Annunaki.org and gives an interesting insight as we need to start looking at the reasons given in the texts for the 'visit'. Suspend your disbelief folks as the story is pretty out there however I keep coming back to the same question, How could they make up a story this amazing without a frame of reference?
Nibiru is Sumerian for 12th Planet
From ancient Sumerian texts, there was a description that our creators came from a yet discovered planet that enters our Solar System ever 3,600 years.
The texts said that they were known as the Nephilim, and that they had colonized Earth over 400,000 years ago. The bible also mentions this race, and calls them the “sons of God”.
The planet of Nibiru was suffering as it’s atmosphere was eroding, they came to Earth in order to mine minerals (gold) to help repair their atmosphere.
This was done in the middle East and is why we find the Great Pyramid and adjacent pyramids in alone with constellations in our Solar System. They created portals on Earth (highly magnetic areas) to send their minerals back to Nibiru.
Our race was created around 300,000 years ago as a hybrid race with native Earth animals and the Nephilim to create a race of “workers” to help mine the minerals from our planet.
The alien leaders did not like this interbreeding and chose not to warn humankind about the impending doom on Nibiru in 13000 BC that would eventually cause the great flood here on Earth.
However, one of the Annunaki takes it upon himself to inform Noah of the impending doom so that he can help avoid the races extinction. From there, the Annunaki promise to return in time but leave humans alone to rule the planet.
I'll cut in here to say that I will be revisiting the 'hybrid race' part of this as that will be discussed in the next post when we dig deeper into the question of....What was/is the Annunaki agenda?
The following is a theory put forth by followers of Sitchin, who believe we are not being told the truth from NASA and our governments.
In 2002 the 12th planet of Nibiru, physically entered into our Solar System, falling in line with Sitchin’s 12th Planet dialogue. After entering in 2002, Nibiru went on to influence the orbits of the planets in our system, changing their axis and poles along the way.
It passed close enough to Earth that it influenced our oceans for several years, eventually leading to devastating tsunamis, a new awaking of volcanoes around the world and influenced definitively the climate and the earth’s axis which slowly moves, thus altering the position of the physical and magnetic poles. Initially, the planet’s orbit came closer to the Earth’s South Pole and the Sun, and was not visible from Earth. But it late 2012, Nibiru’s oblique orbit, which was 35 relative to the solar equator plane, proved to be quite visible and many pictures and videos were posted online questioning this new “star” in our skies.
However, no one in the mainstream media were asking these type of questions. Why is that?
The short answer is because of NASA. They decided to question the true orbit and return of Nibiru to our Solar System. The US government had urged them that it was required that they deny the existence of Nibiru in order to not cause widespread panic throughout the world.
NASA then prepared a very well-built simulation that projected the orbit of Nibiru. Transformed the simulation in video and “sneak” released on the internet. The simulation done by NASA computers presented visually not only the displacement of Nibiru in its orbit, but also the orbits of all the planets of the solar system.
Below is the video allegedly leaked from NASA however I will say that I don't put a lot of stock into it as I believe NASA is a disinformation agency that rarely tells us the truth.
The goal of the video was clear for any scholar, confuse everyone with a false orbit path for Nibiru. That goal, was accomplished as everyone thought there was nothing to be seen or any adverse effects for us on Earth.
The True Orbit Of Nibiru.
Nibiru, by all definitions, concepts and research scholars in the field, is a red or brown dwarf star that carries along with it seven planets orbiting around each other; therefore it is a Mini Solar System. Nibiru is close to 5 times larger than Jupiter. So by turn, it is 6500 times larger than the earth!
Nibiru’s true orbit is around our Sun every 3,600 years.
With the gigantic size, it has very strong gravitational pull and it influences our oceans and all magnetic fields. So in 2011, when Nibiru approached the Sun, it began forcefully “pulling” at the Sun’s core. The core of the Sun is only 65 times that of Nibiru. Thus, the solar activity in relation to explosions and solar storms has increased so much that the “Maximo Solar” started in 2011 and has not stopped to this day (2014). The emissions are in the ultraviolet solar radiation level (range from 0 to 16) are currently at 15, and the normal is between 9 and 10 units. This was caused by the approach of Nibiru towards the Sun.
Keep in mind that the sun also influenced Nibiru!
Because of the magnetic and gravitational intensity of Nibiru, it influenced the Sun in a way that it initiated the reversal of its magnetic poles. The same reversal is also happening here on Earth: gravitational pull and magnetic fields. In order to perform this reversal, these two forces acting together are required!
This mutual attraction between the Sun & Nibiru increased Nibiru’s travel speed and velocity. In essence, it was “catapulted” with accelerated speed away from the Sun. The process is known as “Slingshot Effect” and was used by NASA to throw the Galileo probe toward Jupiter. The probe passed twice by the Earth’s orbit, then the orbit of Venus. With significantly increased speed was finally redirected towards Jupiter.
The gravitational effect of accelerated so much that its contour to the Sun’s orbit will be much longer, but faster than the misleading NASA simulation. Based on this premise, it is our estimate that Nibiru will pass back around us in 2018.
On this return, Nibiru will come from the north pole of the Sun and Earth, so it will be widely seen in the northern hemisphere.
In this new return, it will be faster than when you came from outer space into our solar system. This distance of Neptune to the Sun is highly convenient for Nibiru, because it needs a certain distance to re-accelerate from again “tangent” to the sun to get to restart the longer orbit of 3600 years.
Surely we know all the planets in our solar system? Maybe not..

Moving on from Where to Why?
If this is true and we are talking about a seriously technologically advanced race of people then you have to imagine the war went at least nuclear. I'm sure we're all aware of the environmental damage a large scale nuclear war would cause to a planets ecosystem and atmosphere.
The following is taken from darkstar1and talks about the Annunaki's reasons for wanting so much gold.
One of the most curious things about Zecharia Sitchin’s theories is his description of the Anunnaki’s search for gold. Their descent to Earth was triggered by a worsening environmental disaster on their own world, Nibiru. They came here with the explicit need to collect one thing: Gold. Why? Not for jewellery, certainly. Their plundering of the earth’s gold supplies was necessary in order to achieve just one end. They needed to pump the stuff into the atmosphere of Nibiru.
This is one of the strangest aspects of a very strange story. Nowadays, we are all familiar with the idea of environmental threats, of impending ecological collapse within a couple of generations. But when Sitchin wrote his ‘12th Planet Theory’ back in 1976 there was no such concern, beyond worries of oil prices and OPEC’s control of the world’s economy.
Recently we have seen discussions of our modern problems of global warming, as scientists report on what the governments of the world need to do to avoid the very real threat of global super-heating. In an implicit acceptance of the threat of global warming, the U.S. have been pressurizing scientists to recommend hi-tech solutions. These include space mirrors to deflect 1% of the light of the Sun away from Earth. Reflecting light away from our planet by just a small amount would, apparently, compensate for the greenhouse gas effects going on due to industrial and domestic output of carbon gases.
One of the ways to reflect light into space would be to introduce reflective material into the highest part of the earth’s atmosphere. Such a solution is being considered seriously. Suggestions include the release of millions of reflective balloons into the upper atmosphere. Another is changing the emission gases of aeroplanes to produce white and longer-lasting contrails. A third is releasing sulphate droplets into the upper atmosphere, which would mimic the action of cooling volcanic eruptions. Like all untested medicine, the side-effects of sulphate droplet release remain unknown.
This all suddenly sounds rather familiar. Releasing material in bulk into the atmosphere of our planet? As Lee Covino has pointed out to me, this is pure Sitchin! It’s what the Anunnaki did with our gold. They spent hundreds of thousands of years purportedly mining the stuff, and shipping it back to Nibiru when that planet’s elongated orbit brought it round to the planetary zone of our star every 3600 years. Once they had enough of the stuff, the Anunnaki left. It now seems likely that the purpose for the gold was not to keep the homeworld's planetary heat in, but to keep the light out.
In his 1976 book The Twelfth Planet, Sitchin wrote:
“On Nibiru — ‘Planet X’ of our Solar System – the problem was the opposite one: Loss of internally generated heat due to a dwindling atmosphere, brought about by natural causes and nuclear wars. Nibiru’s scientists concluded that the only way to save life on their planet was to create a shield of gold particles in their upper atmosphere.”
So let's assume we accept the premise that the Annunaki came here from a decaying planet to look for resources with which to save it. If this was the case surely there would be evidence showing large and ancient mining activities?
There is....
Michael Tellinger has been a thorough and dogged investigator when it comes to the story of the Annunaki and their alleged mining activities. Over many years now he has worked tirelessly to uncover the truth regarding this lost epoch of human history.
Recently he has used the most modern technology to link the discovery of a formally unknown site in South Africa to the lost mines of the Annunaki and what appears to be a massive city complex built around them many thousands of years ago!
In this article called The remains of a 200,000 year old advanced civilization found in Africa we see the remains of the absolutely massive complex discovered near Maputo in South Africa. This discovery is important as it give evidence to the story in the cuneiform texts of the Sumerian's scholars.

The incredible discovery was made in South Africa, around 150 km west of port Maputo. There, we find the remains of a huge metropolis that measures, according to tests, around 1500 square kilometers. This ancient city is, according to researchers, part of an even larger community with about 10,000 square kilometers and is believed to have been constructed 160,000 to 200,000 years before Christ.
The region is somewhat remote and the “circles” have often been encountered by local farmers who assumed they were made by some indigenous people in the past. But, oddly, no one ever bothered to inquire about who could have made them or how old they were. This changed when researcher and author, Michael Tellinger, in association with Johan Heine, a local fireman and pilot who had looked at these ruins for years, decided to investigate them. Heine had the unique opportunity to see these incredible structures from the air and knew that their significance was not appreciated.
“When Johan first introduced me to the ancient stone ruins of southern Africa, he had no idea of the incredible discoveries we would make in the following years. The photographs, artifacts and evidence we accumulated, point towards a lost civilization that has never before been and precedes all others – not for a few hundred years, or a few thousand years … but many thousands of years.” – Tellinger
According to Tellinger, these discoveries are so incredible that It will need a complete paradigm shift in how we view our human history.
The surrounding geology is interesting due to the numbers gold mines located in the vicinity. Researchers have proposed that a vanished civilization from the distant past, could have lived and proposed in that part of the world while mining gold. They point to the Ancient Anunnaki:

450,000 B.C.
After long wars, the atmosphere of Nibiru began to deteriorate and became a hostile place for life, The Anunnaki needed gold to repair their atmosphere. According to researchers, we can use gold nano particles to repair our damaged ozone layer.
445,000 B.C.
The Anunnaki aliens landed on Earth and established their base in Eridu, wanting to extract gold from the Persian Gulf. They were led by Enki, son of Anu.
416,000 B.C.
Gold production fell, which made Anu come to Earth. Beside him his other son Enlil arrived. Anu decided that mining would take place in Africa and promoted Enlil in charge of the Terran mission.
400,000 B.C.
In southern Mesopotamia were seven developed nations. Among the most important were: “Sipar”, “Nippur” and “Shuruppak”. After the metal was refined, the ore was transported from Africa with ‘ships’ and sent into orbit.

These incredible ruins mostly consist of stone circles, most have been buried in the sand and are only observable by plane or satellites. Some have been exposed to climate change that has removed the sand, revealing the walls and foundations.

It is at this point that we come to the most fascinating part of the story of the Annunaki, the genetic creation of a slave race to work the mines. One just smart enough to work under instruction and fear but not smart enough to question the authorities.
