Sunday Supper and special notes from diners







Last evening we had our first taste of what winter will bring. Cold (by comparison) and blustery. Diners arrived all bundled up and eating alfresco was not even a consideration.

The menu reflected the weather, and clearing diners' plates suggests, as do their lovely notes, that it was just what the doctor ordered.

The butternut - specifically mentioned - was roasted with olive oil and a local herb and Himalayan salt product. The gravy - made the way my Mum taught me, and dessert, a traditional South African favourite. Seems my baking skills are improving. Desserts and baking have been my biggest challenge of the Sunday Supper journey.
