Today was the day scheduled for my project defense and I was all ready to go face it. I woke up early enough in other to get prepared and get to the venue for the defense on time. I was already present there as at 8:30am cause a specific time wasn't give for when the defense programme will start.
I was waiting patiently as I watched all the individuals that are to defend arrives. As at 9:30 am 90% of the students were around. I was then hope the defense will start soon.
But I observed something strange. The head of the department and other lecturers of the department were roaming from one office to the others and moving about with some big folders bundle together in their hands. It was already 10:00 am at this time.
Not quite long after some minutes past 10, the head of department sent for all the students. I was so excited it was time to go smash it. We all eventually got to the hall when they passed the heart breaking news to us that the project defense has been postponed. It was said to have been postponed due to the coming in of the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) for courses accreditation.
Few students were excited about the changes while some wasn't pleased about it but we all had no choice but accept fate. I in particular wasn't pleased a bit about the change cause it will only prolong my stay on campus. I really need to go home and rest perfectly.
The most part that saddens me is that it was postponed to an unspecified day. It kind of not to good. We all have to be prepared at anytime we are been called.
I just hope all goes well.
