It's Friday, when we can, the team would go out for lunch together somewhere either in Chatswood or Crows Nest. The choice was on Chatswood today and we all went on the company's shuttle to get there. One of the colleagues has suggested we go to Chef Rasa Sayang, a humble little Malaysian Restaurant that actually cooks very nice Malaysian food. It was also planned to try their Stingray curry!
On the way there, we met two other colleagues from another department and convinced them to join us for more fun. So the 7 of us headed towards Chatswood Chase, the shopping center. We have not booked but luckily we only waited about 5 minutes before the waiter set up an extended table for us.
One of us had to leave early and ordered separately while we decided to share our food. So our order was:
- Curry Stingray
- Belacan Four Heavenly Kings (stir-fried veges: okra, beans, stinky beans and eggplant)
- Beef Rendang
- Bak Kut Teh
The Bak Kuh Teh, a pork rib dish cooked in broth with young corn, mushrooms, tofu etc... came out first and was the only non-spicy dish. When the 4 Heavenly Kings came out, I found it spicy but it was not bad. The food was very nice indeed. I enjoyed the Bak Kuh Teh more as I prefer sweet tasting dish than saltier ones like the 4 Kings.
The Beef Rendang came out third and was also an amazing choice. But when I tasted the Curry Stingray, oh man, it was spicy! I was sweating. I've eaten Stingray before and they are quite nice, the wings is a little bit special as it is filled with cartilaginous bones, so they are very soft and crunchy.
I couldn't finish my rice soaked with the Curry Stingray sauce because it was too hot. We ended up ordering a Teh Tarik, milk tea, to soothe our mouths lol.
We were to hungry and also having fun chatting together that I totally forgot to take some shots of the food 😂😂😂
It's almost dinner time now, I'm on the train and I can still feel the spice in my stomach 😲
