Today's workout was particularly tough due to the hot weather. Though January supposed to be a cooler month, the past 2 days have been very sweaty... though there might be a lot of deniers out there our planet is definitely heating at a fast pace.
Luckily this season is also the fruit season. First mangoes are coming off the trees as we speak. Yeah... so expect some mango posts in the near future.
To rehydrate and replenish my body with much-needed plant nutrients after this particular sweaty workout I made this passion post-workout smoothie. Refreshing, healthy and super delicious.
TROPICAL PASSION FRUIT POST-WORKOUT BOOSTER 🌴🥕🍌
INGREDIENTS SERVES 2 TO 4)
2 cups bok choy
1 carrot
3 passion fruit
1 big banana (frozen to chill the smoothie and add extra creaminess)
2 cups tropical fruit (we used a mix of pineapple, mango, and papaya)
2 tbsp hemp hearts
Optional toppings: coconut flakes and goji berries
2-3 cups water
INSTRUCTIONS
Blend water and bok choy until smooth. Add other ingredients and blend again. If the smoothie is too thick at more water. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw everything in at once.
Optional: Top with superfoods/topping if you like. We used coconut flakes and goji berries this time.
