Deeply concerned about the state of things

Not concerned about Steemit though, just the world in general, specifically Venezuela.

Sure there's African kids who are skinnier and it's not like I can't feel for them, I come from a place of extreme poverty so it has to touch me. But hearing a person say they are hungry in my native language? I can't stand that, just thinking about it makes my eyes water.

This didn't just happen from one day to another, I had been reading a lot from Internet users who would say they were Venezuelans and that we should pay attention to what is happening in their country.

When I finally came around to realize this was a real thing and not just Internet commenters who may very well be paid to do so, I only came around because upon returning to my country of birth I couldn't help but notice all the Venezuelans around me. So I approached them because I wanted to know what had gone wrong in the country...every single one I asked told me they left Venezuela because there's no food.

This was very shocking to me because a country so rich in resources, not just oil but land, jungle, they have the space to grow food so what's going on? From the little research I've done since it would seem like the government is using force to keep people from selling the food even if they manage to produce.

The Venezuelan government sets the price, they might even control who sells, and is keeping imports from coming in. This in effect creates a black market where people are operating based on scarcity and thus prices have gone up ridiculously.

It would honestly be better if government poisons the whole country or most of it than forcing them to struggle for food and then die of hunger, that is no way to die.

I'm sure there's much more than that, generally I try to stay away from politics because I consider it a waste of time. We are talking about heavy control of information, I see people debating over stuff that has never happened as if it were fact. But as strong as I may be I know what hunger is already, and I can't just stay silent when there are children describing the effects of hunger to me on Youtube. I can't just find conformity in that one day things may be better for them when I see a child telling me that they get dizzy and have headaches due to lack of food.

Honestly I don't know what we are going to do, the situation is such that you can have a backpack searched for food by military, what kind of world is this? Please, please, I beg you not to blame it on socialism because that's just a scapegoat that aims to pass up not just blame but responsibility.

If we know in this world people can get the food they have purchased with their own money taken legally or the food they have grown, then those who decide to ignore it deserve it too.

The only patch I can find for the moment is to find a way to send some food out there, perhaps in smaller quantities an arrangement can be made so they go through. Maybe we could convince people to donate, not money, but medicine and food. Seriously people, this is bad, don't ignore it.

A few days ago this video came out and it really shocked me, the dude took his clothes off not only to show he was not dangerous but to demonstrate the repression they are being subjected to. They shot him anyways, on camera, a naked man.

I don't know if the video is NSFW or NS all together, because these are not the images we should be seeing in a world like the one we live in. We have enough so that no one has to go hungry again, don't be fooled, there is enough.

That's not saying that we should ignore our population rates or that we shouldn't try to administer what we have.

A lot of people like to bring up a scenario where crypto could fail, they try to paint the picture of government shutting down the electricity around the world as well as the Internet. Some even try to promote gold or other metals based on that logic...
I can tell those people haven't gone hungry because it's like reality passes right though them, nothing matters when disaster strike more than water, medicine, food...NOTHING.

If you try to sell me a piece of gold after the electricity and Internet have been taken from the whole world I'll probably just grab the stone just to throw it at your face over such offense.
