What up my Steemians, welcome to the @D00k13 Digest, finally I have found a way of making use of the things I have collected over the years and it seems as if I have been preparing for this journey of mine. I have now installed my Scosche MagicMount in the car for use with my GoPro and man am I pleased with the video quality. Very stable and fairly clear though slightly dim. This trial run I was more concerned about the audio quality which with the windows down I found a fair amount of background noise apparent. I may need to make an investment into a external mic so that the audio will focus forward with minimal wind distortions. I also think there may be a setting in my GoPro to specify which internal microphone on the device to use, I will check that for my next video.
Very pleased with the ability to use my iPhone for reviewing active footage to ensure framing and what not. Makes the job of positioning simple since with something like my iPhone I cannot see the screen while recording with the back camera for improved video quality, essentially I was shooting blind up till my purchase of this GoPro.
With the wide angle of the GoPro I can capture out the rear window and the side window making for a good view for all those watching. If I happen to get rear ended its on camera and well if someone is giving me the eye ball I can capture it while saying "BOOM!!! You Got Vlogged!!!" LOL going to have to make use of this catch phrase! I could now also potentially use my iPhone for a dashcam recording with both devices in 4k and produce a 4k travel vlog right from my car.
My last video was a simple picture recap, I will be doing this weekly to help promote my giveaway. I used Quik and it came out pretty good but with one thing missing, the voice over to explain the story I wish to portray. If I create the video in Quik then pull that into Splice I can then record the voice over with still keeping my whole creation process simple and mobile making use of my time when I can find it! So I suppose this is the next front I need to challenge myself on, could I do a walkthrough of the X-Men castle then come back and do an awesome documentary style voice over? Thinking of what many of the YouTubers do for videos, they take pictures and video clips fitting their topic and voice over with titles to make a video that gets a message across directly without the distraction of someone on screen!
Thank you @captainbob for this wicked idea, I had everything to plunk my camera on the dash just sitting around just not being used! Never would have thought of this as obvious as it is, next idea I am taking from you is the external microphone to go with it as with in the car I will have no worries about water damage. Also considering ordering a head strap/body harness with another faceplate so I can keep the external microphone attached to on faceplate while having another for poor weather or underwater. Thank again for the brilliant idea!
This is my longest video yet? I think so anyways it would be fairly close in length to some of my earlier works before I started trying to trim down my videos into the 5-7 min area. Prepare yourself to see more of the long winded uncut @d00k13, maybe not just one clip but as you can see I highlight my mistakes in wording playing with edits all in the name of enhancing my ability.
