True patriots question their government...
Nerd By Northwest #125 – “Office Agitator”

I try to have a more nuanced view of Edward Snowden than most people, who tend to think he's either a total hero or a vile traitor. Since I strive to think of things in terms of how probable they are as opposed to dealing in certainties, I'm willing to entertain the possibility of either being true. That said, I think most of the evidence points to him being a whistle-blower (even if having done it illegally) as opposed to being a spy. And regardless of which one is true, I think the information and evidence of unconstitutional government spying deserves to be examined. Anyone who uses the blanket statement "but he's a traitor!" in response to that particular issue either has a mental block that makes it too uncomfortable to look at the evidence or is trying to avoid accountability for the government's actions. Nothing deflects attention like emotionally-charged rhetoric combined with appeals to one's patriotism...
BTW, when I created this strip I thought up the whole Kim Jong-Un International Fan Club thing on my own. As I was finishing it, I started thinking, "In a world this nuts, I bet such a thing might actually exist." And sure enough it does, in Japan of all places. It's getting challenging to write humor when the real world is just as absurd as a comic strip. 😏
