Cam may work as a bartender and pizza delivery guy, but he's also the most learned of the group on investing and financial matters. It might sound counter-intuitive, but it's often the over-worked white-collar professionals who have the least time to learn such things...
As you might imagine from this strip, I don't have a high opinion of most financial advisors. Not that they're necessarily bad people, but many are simply just incentivized to sell products that make the most money for their company (and themselves) more so than what's best for the client. And just because you're wealthy doesn't make you immune; in fact, sometimes that attracts the worst kind of weasels (Eric Townsend of the popular investing podcast 'Macro Voices' gives an eye-opening account of how he got taken to the cleaners for millions by a reputable financial institution). So if you find a good financial advisor, thank your lucky stars. Personally, I've spent the last 10 or so years trying to educate myself on economics and better investing practices so I can do decent job managing my own retirement and investment accounts. After all, no one cares more about your money than yourself, right?
