Few days ago, my grandma had transcendental experience caused by voltage of 220 V. I am sure now about existence of supernatural force that watches on old people and drunks. Otherwise, I should celebrate a fuse as a hero for doing it's job properly.
My grandpa died few weeks ago. He was demented and immobile for longer than a year. My grandma also started to be demented but she is far more mobile than my grandpa was. And she still acts as a boss and wants to be involved in everything that happens around the house.
OK, I understand a need of older person to live an active life, but, when when you are trying to wash a electrical socket with wet steel sponge, that means that things have gone too far.

So, when my grandpa died, we had a funeral and many people visited us. My grandma's sister among them. She is even older and more demented than my grandma , but decided to stay for few days with her.
When her sister left us, my grandma was convinced that she spilled something greasy all over the electrical socket in the guest room. She decided to clean it up!
Of course, with a wet steel sponge!

I was in my apartment in the same house when I heard loud but short sound. It was coming from my grandma's apartment, so I ran there immediately. I noticed that the lights don't work in her place and it was evening and dark, so I almost stepped on something soft... shit!
My grandma was lying on the floor.
She was unconscious. I was about to freak out but I managed to stay calm. I checked her pulse, she was alive and breathing. I called emergency straight away. They came fifteen minutes later and took her in their vehicle. I drove behind them to the clinic.
I was waiting for an hour in front of the ambulance. Then the doctor came out and he told me that she is fine. He told me that she is very lucky because she could be killed if the fuse didn't blow. He told me that she will be OK but that she will have to spend that night in the hospital. He also told me that I can see her.
So I went into her room and she was awake. She was shaking and her hair was very weird. But she smiled to me when she saw me. She told me:
"I am glad because I am still alive, because your grandpa died few days ago and it would be too expensive for you to have two funerals in short time!"
