Hi guys! I decided to experiment traditionally and digitally. It took me three attempts to get the design I liked, using one of my previous dragon head drawings as inspiration. This is my original art, @kristyglas.

Lernum- a dragon manifestation of others' emotions. Once a dragon is born the living being experiences a peaceful trance. The dragon's color correlates to the emotion it was made of, but, it's personality will be the complete opposite. Hence, a blue Lernum is born from sadness, but the dragon itself is the most cheerful one.
My Drawing Process

I started with a usual simple pencil sketch, from which I moved on to inking.

For the outline I used a 0.4 Unipin pen.

Once I finished this I decided to scan the work and color it digitally. Mostly because the paper I drew on is slightly yellowish.

I removed all color from the scan and selected the outline which I copied to a new layer. This allowed me to more easily set a base color for the dragon. I tried a few colors, but settled down for my favorite blue.

To give the dragon a slight glowing effect, I used light and dark gradients, making sure to use saturated colors.

Afterwards I used a few simple texture brushes to finalize the body. I left the wings for last because they had to be different to be interesting.
The background is a dark simple color, it's only purpose is to accentuate the dragon.

Done!
I decided to combine the art with my originally intended Sunday post instead of making 2 posts.
My Favorite Books
We may live only once, but we can experience many lifetimes and adventures through movies, books and games. Music plays a great part in setting the mood and atmosphere.
I love discovering new things, but it can be hard to know where to start. So for my still ongoing contest I asked Steemians to name some of their favorite things. I recommend to check out here . I found lots of new cool things that I can't wait to see and read. There is still time for you to join as well! Also you can list more than the minimum required answers for the contest.
Today I'll share my favorite books. I will answer all of the questions eventually, but the post is already too long. I love Harry Potter books, but I feel it's unnecessary to write about them.
First of all warning, most of the books I will list are considered Young adult category (-18 age), featuring teen characters. I love that these type of books usually don't involve any politics, religion or sex. Rather they focus on adventure, growing up/maturing and making important choices in life. The characters can drastically change which makes it much more interesting.
Also they often have easier to read and understand, because of simpler vocabulary and writing styles.
I'll start with one of my all time favorite books:
Artemis Fowl series by Eton Colfer
I started reading it when I was 11 and many of the books from the series weren't even out yet. This are science fiction novels featuring a young criminal mastermind that gets involved with fairies who have much more advanced technology than humans. The first three book covers are extra shiny and I love them!

Septimus Heap
A fantasy novel series about wizards, packed with action, mystery and adventure. It has very interesting style of light and dark magick. I won't add more to not spoil anything. The covers are some of the best I've ever seen. They fit perfectly and really have the magical feel to them. Simple and detailed at the same time. The books also have many lovely illustrations in them.
They say not to judge a book by the cover, but so far I've not been dissapointed by an incredible cover.

Darren Shan Saga
Horror novels. I was hooked right from the first chaper and ended up reading the first book in one sitting. The Demonata books by the same author are just as amazing, but much more more gruesome.
Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicker
" The books follow the turbulent lives of Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire. After their parents' death in a fire, the children are placed in the custody of a murderous relative, Count Olaf, who attempts to steal their inheritance and, later, orchestrates numerous disasters"
Currently there is a Netflix series and it's very accurate to the books. I highly recommend to see it even if you don't plan to read the books. The movie with Jim Carrey was also awesome, but it covers only first three books with less details. The original 13 small books have awesome illustrations.
Lock wood and Co.
This is a more recent series that I've listened to as audiobooks. The books are set in alternative modern London where youngsters have the gift to see ghost. There is an epidemic of ghosts attacking and killing alive people.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
This a historical novel set during World War 2. The main character is a young girl who steals books that Nazi party are destroying. There are lots of serious and touching moments in the book. It's a fiction, but feels very real. Possibly because some parts were inspired by author's parents' experience and some others.
7 habbits of highly successful people
An extremely useful self help book. This was my first self help book and it helped a lot, since then I have read many others. My favorite part was reading about creating win-win situations where everyone can benefits from the outcomes.
