I hit a snag after running my witness node a few days after I set it up last week. I overlooked a little misconfiguration that caused me to miss 1 block. I was angry at myself, but with patience and daily monitoring to ensure everything was running smoothly on the server, I finally generated my first successful block today. I couldn't be happier 😀😀😀
Another milestone for me is my rank. I'm currently at position 99 thanks to all the minnows and dolphins who voted for me as a witness. I couldn't have made it so far without you. I'm thankful, and I know the road is still paved with fierce competition to climb higher and earn more support. I had a little mishap today where I lost some valuable votes, but I'm not discouraged and I will continue with my efforts in becoming a solid contributor.
Earlier today I started setting up a seed node. I'm experimenting with a Dual-core 6GB RAM/500GB/100Mbit VPS, if everything goes well, it will be up tomorrow. If not, I might have to upgrade the system to Quad-core 14GB RAM/1000GB/100Mbit. Catching my first block has boosted my motivation to pursue the road map that I laid in my witness proposal last week.
