Curie Needs your Witness Vote!
You guys have heard about Curie and all the wonderful work the team of curators and reviewers do right? Of course you have. If you have followed me for any length of time, you've seen me talk about Curie plenty of times in the curation role.
But did you know that Curie also runs a Witness? In fact, Curie is one of our top 20 witnesses on the platform. As of this writing, Curie is Witness number 18. But we need your help if Curie is going to stay there!
Two months ago I wrote about the need for everyone to utilize their allotted witness votes. You get to votefor up to 30 witnesses, and can change them at any time. If you are not familiar with why you should vote for witnesses, check out that older post Make your voice heard.
So, okay, it is important to vote for witnesses, but why should you vote for Curie specifically?
Recently Curie released a White Paper at Curie Steem. Here is part of the introduction:
Curie is a community witness and a meritocratic community curation project.
Following are Curie’s main goals:
- To discover and reward undiscovered but exceptional content by
persistent creators with limited success.- To empower quality curators.
- To develop a curation community on Steem.
- To build communities.
- To serve as a community witness.
All of this with an absolute commitment to meritocracy and transparency with
an aspiration towards zero corruption.
The Curie Witness is run democratically with reviewers and top curators voting on any witness related activities such as hard forks and parameter changes. In this way, Curie's witness is reflective of the Steem community at large. The voting group members consist of people from all corners of the world, with wide ranging viewpoints, similar to the overall community of Steem. In this way, perhaps, Curie is the most representative witness of the platform.
The Witness Rewards all go back to the community
Curie is a collective of Curators who are scouring the platform for the best of the best of new content to reward. As rewarding as this endeavor is, it is not a completely altruistic endeavor. The Curators are rewarded with Steem finders fees for each post they submit which gets approved. While the majority of this reward pool comes from Curation rewards, the Witness reward contributes a lot as well.
Curie gives back. Over the course of the project, here is how the Curie account impacts the platform as a whole.

That's Fifty Six Thousand upvoted posts for over One million dollars in rewards. How many of our witnesses can say that they give back to the community in such a way? How many of the witnesses put all of their earnings right back in to the people who make up Steem?
I can personally vouch for this, as a Curator I have received my finders fees every Sunday without fail since beginning working with the group. There are various bounties offered for assisting the guild reach higher heights.
We need you!
Witness votes are constantly changing. With one vote plus or minus being able to shift a witness position. Every single vest counts!
If you have an open Witness Vote, please consider using it for Curie.
If you are currently maxed out on witness votes, consider looking over your list to see if there is a witness who hasn't been living up to their duties and should be removed from your list.
Curie will constantly strive to improve the community and promises to continue to work for the users of the platform!
A side note.
Curie is on the look out for SP delegations to lease. If you have some SP laying around that could be put to good use by supporting the Curie initiative and rewarding undiscovered talent, please reach out to the team on Curie Discord or in the comments on @Curie blog posts to talk about terms and payment.
