Question #15: Do you put up with negative influences?

A NEW YEAR (A.N.Y.), a new way question series:

On January first, I posted our first article in this series explaining a new way to approach New Year's resolutions. Each day we will explore a different question that challenges us to understand ourselves better. The format will be as follows: I will post the previous day's question with my answer followed by the next day's question for contemplation.

Here is my answer:

Cut it out!

In our current paradigm, one of the most popular approaches to negativity is to cut it out. Countless books and meme’s counsel us that this is the healthiest approach to gaining confidence. If you have a negative influence in the form of a friend, partner, co-worker or family member the strategy is to remove yourself from them. It is highly ineffective and misguided not to mention an exercise in futility.

Boomerang

Removing yourself from negative influences is as effective as throwing a boomerang; no matter how hard you try to throw it away it keeps coming back to you. The same principle is at play with negative people. Sure you may get a temporary respite from their impactful presence but soon enough the personality shows up again. As much as it would be convenient to make it about the perpetrator, the problem lies within us.

Magnetic personality

The answer is found in our belief profile; the dark place where we believe the worst about ourselves. Our interpretation of the events in our past have brainwashed us into accepting these lies as truth. We have lost touch with who we truly are. Instead, these toxic beliefs run the show and manifest themselves in the negative people in our life. Let me use an analogy that may help with this concept. Say you have the belief that you don’t love yourself. Hypothetically we will assign an arbitrary frequency value of 45 hz to that belief. Like any working transmitter you constantly send out the frequency awaiting the corresponding receiver. Do you know who the receiver of frequency 45 is? Someone you doesn’t understand how to love and will create the scenario where you don’t feel loved. What needs to be understood here is that it's the belief that's the problem here not outside manifestion; Transmitter meet your receiver. Unless the frequency is changed, you can break-up your relationship, change jobs or even disown members of your family but you will achieve little. Eventually, you will run into another one of the multiple receivers waiting to respond to your transmission.

Change the station

So what can be done? As simple as this sounds, the transmission must be changed. What is at the heart of the transmission, a LIE. Have you ever thought about why you believe the people who put that lie there? So what if they are your parents, family, teacher or ex-spouse, they are not super human or an all-seeing power. In fact, I know that they are not. You have been duped and brainwashed by those broken people for they needed to make you small. Time for you to build a new reality based on the truth; you are an incredible human being. Imagine yourself without that toxic person’s programming in your mind. Who would you be then? THAT’s a good start. The belief behind the transmission needs to chipped away at and slowly destroyed. Even the smallest adjustment will alter the frequency and change your life. The good news is that once the frequency is changed the people who matched the old frequency will exit the scene and new people will come to match the new frequency. Changing the frequency is the only way to permanently remove negative people from your life.
