Lynchian visions
A man supposedly walked into one of the art galleries of the film director David Lynch, and asked the secret of how he painted such disturbing images.
Lynch replied, "I paint every single day."
Such simplicity from Lynch, but it really stuck in my head Everyday I now attempt the same with my writing. In fact I now write more than I read. I edit, publish and comment on my blogs everyday.
My own writing
I know my own writing has improved since I joined Steemit and tips on writing articles from people like @ericvancewalton have certainly helped. I'm always struggling with punctuation, tenses and action verbs, but at least I know my editing is getting a lot quicker!
I've gone from a writing nobody to someone who commands $3-4 an article when the rewards pool is fully refreshed and I'm quite happy with that as I muse away on a variety of subjects.
All I need to do is just make an appearance at the computer keyboard on with lap tray and I'm good to go.
Finally my last tip is a weird one. Copy out the works of the great masters. Start with a short story and write it down like it's a punishment. This feels totally useless and impractical, but it works for musicians and sculptors so it can work for you too. Try it. You'll soon start to feel an instinct kick in around page three or four I promise you!
