Consistency or How I learned to Stop Worrying and Post on a Daily Basis - Part 2

As the title already reveals, this is a follow up to an earlier post. One that I wrote yesterday. You can find it here. To summarize: It talks about my mission to see if I can be consistent and if it actually fits my persona. And you know what? Following the process of my search for consistency - and my findings - might benefit you too.

As I am a film lover - and occasional filmmaker - the title of the post/ project transformed into a reference to a classic movie: Dr. Strangelove. If you haven't seen it yet and you're open to older films (it's from 1964 and in black and white), I definitely advice you to give it a watch one time.

Here's the official trailer, which is like a short film in itself. Something you can't say from most trailers these days:

Dr. Strangelove was directed by one of the best filmmakers ever, Stanley Kubrick. This filmmaking legend literally mastered every genre: From (war) comedy (Dr. Strangelove) to Vietnam war movie (Full Metal Jacket). From epic historical biography (Spartacus) to science fiction (2001: A Space Odyssey) and psychological horror (The Shining). In short, Kubrick is worth studying for every filmmaker and a treat for lovers of film worldwide. The guy was a true genius!

If you are into documentaries, you should give S is for Stanley a chance. It's a 78 minute peak into the life of this master of cinema.

CUT BACK TO
CONSISTENCY

My stream of consciousness and love for movies, made me dive into cinema and that is one of the channels in my brain where I really feel at ease. So be prepared for me to do that more often. Who knows, it might become one of my trademarks on here, haha! Let me tell you a little secret - which isn't really a secret - I just changed my profile text because of this. It now reads:

Allround creative - I write about movies, even when I don't write about movies.

Because why wouldn't I? Sure I can write about loads of topics and subjects but that doesn't need to stop me from throwing in some movie talk every now and then, right?

CUT BACK TO
YESTERDAY

@macchiata replied to yesterday's post and talked about keeping a diary. Now that's definitely an example of consistency. I didn't follow her advice immediately - not yesterday - but just now, I was thinking:

Why not treat this consistency experiment as a kind of diary?
I could write about daily stuff mixed with some kind of stream of consciousness.

Looking back at today's post, I realize that it automatically/ almost unconsciously turned into a write up on film. Something I honestly don't mind at all. I know it's only day 2 but I already start to get some inspiration from this experiment in consistency. Perhaps mixing up deeper talk with film history is gonna be my thing on here?
I do not necessarily need to separate the two all the time, do I?

So here's something you might want to try yourself if you aren't already doing so:

Mix your passion with the subject you're writing on. By doing this, you will give it your own personal touch. It will make your posts truly unique.

TO BE CONTINUED

So what about you? Do you mix your writing with your passion? If not, how do you feel about that? Would you consider it? Let me know! I'm curious :)
