Introducing "World 5 List" - Bringing the YouTube World to Steemit!

Hey my name is Rene and I'm from Amsterdam. I was made aware of Steemit by my good friend Angelo @theywillkillyou who is running what is currently one of the newer blogs on this platform. Like Angelo, I am a producer of another YouTube channel called World5List, which is slowly but steadily closing in on 1,000,000 subscribers (it's currently sitting at around 750,000 subscribers right now). I'll be working closely with him in trying to bring our subscriber bases over to the awesome Steemit community. We both see a lot of potential in this new social media outlet and hope to do what we can to raise awareness and make it grow! Additionally, with my years of experience in YouTube and coaching other YouTubers, I'd be very happy to answer any questions to help other YouTubers on this platform.

To give you a little background about myself, I'd been having a pretty successful online poker career for about 8 years, playing mainly heads-up no limit hold 'em (for those of you who know what that means), when a few years ago I went to Vegas and rented a room from a former poker player who got me interested in YouTube. Thus, World5List was born! https://www.youtube.com/user/World5list

One of the biggest benefits of my current job is that it allows me to travel a lot. I just got back from a month-long baseball road trip throughout the U.S. and Canada; going to games in Chicago, Saint Louis, Atlanta, Washington, New York, Boston, Toronto and Cleveland. In the last year alone I have also been to Belgium, Belize, Germany, Miami, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Austria, Croatia, and Greece, all of which was topped off by an awesome trip to Colombia with Angelo.

The trip to Colombia was a special one in many ways. Angelo and I spent 5 days with Pablo Escobar’s former top assassin, Jhon Jairo Velásquez aka “Popeye” in his hometown of Medellín, Colombia, which you can read more about here: @theywillkillyou/escobar-uncovered-5-days-w-pablo-escobar-s-top-assassin-sneak-peek

Angelo and I have both decided to document this trip not only on YouTube but on Steemit as well, providing you guys with details and footage that won't be published anywhere else (including YouTube!). Popeye is responsible for orchestrating over 3,000 murders, racking up a personal death count of 300, for which he served 22 years in prison.

To make a long story short, Angelo was on a few calls with him and then we just dove right in and flew to Colombia without really knowing what we were getting ourselves into, which I can promise you made for some pretty interesting footage and storytelling!

In my first few blogs I will be writing extensively about this trip and when that's done I will decide (with your guys' help), what direction I will be taking this in! Angelo and I have been in talks about interviewing another high profile criminal, so who knows...
