For me Messi is more complete Footballer than Ronaldo. Ronaldo is a better athlete than Messi.

Reasons :

1. Passing/Vision : Messi is the best passer of the ball in world football. Be it a through balls or chips. Perfect weight and direction to the ball with an extraordinary vision. eg : numerous one two passes and through-balls through out career to slice defense.

2. Ball control : Messi has one of the best ball control in world football. Ronaldo I think will not be in top 10 currently.

This two quality makes his an extremely versatile player. He can play centrally and on wings.

3. TIMING : Be it any sport. The most common quality among true legends of the game is Time. They have always made us feel that they have some extra time to make decisions. Always making it look easy. Be it any situation they were never in a hurry. Messi certainly displays that with sublime chips over the keeper , extremely tight nutmegs or body faints.

4. Messi rarely gets tackled while dribbling.

Ronaldo for me is a very good player and can be a role model for anyone. But Messi is Magic. I feel without Messi, Ronaldo might not have reached this level but Messi would have been on the same level with or without Ronaldo.
