Esce il 30 Novembre 1979 l’album concept “The wall” dei Pink Floyd, gruppo rock britannico, composto da Roger Waters (voce e basso), Nick Mason (batteria), Richard Wright (tastiera e voce) e David Gilmour (voce e chitarra) aggiuntosi al gruppo nel 1967 (2 anni dopo la sua fondazione), che affiancò (e successivamente sostituì definitivamente) Syd Barrett (Leader del gruppo fino al 1968, progressivamente emarginatosi a causa di gravi problemi comportamentali dovuti al pesante abuso di droghe).

On 30th of November 1979 It was released the Concept Album *The Wall* by the Pink Floyd, an English rock band made up of Roger Waters (on bass and vocals) Nick Mason (on drums), Richard Wright (on keyboards and vocals) and David Gilmour ( on guitar and vocals)that became part of the group on 1967, at first as complements of Syd Barret (Leader till 1968, when he had to leave due to deteriorating mental health and drug abuse) until it is replaced.

The Wall, ammirevole esempio di analisi politica, storica e sociale, raggiunge la sua apoteosi artistica nella trasposizione cinematografica di Alan Parker nel 1982.

Tra gli album doppi più venduti e più importanti della storia del rock, oltre che da un punto di vista strettamente musicale, anche rispetto alla profondità dei contenuti e alla completezza artistica che lo caratterizza. È musica, è poesia, è animazione grafica. Racconta buona parte delle follie umane combinando elementi storici, politici e sociali con esperienze di disagio esistenziale e psicologico di una vita costretta all’isolamento tra traumi subiti, lotte istituzionali, paura del mondo e incapacità di amare. Un’opera intrisa di simbolismo, in primis, ovviamente, quello del Muro, costruito mattone su mattone attraverso relazioni umane e istituzionali deprivanti e opprimenti. Siamo accompagnati a scoprirne la genesi, primo mattone di quel muro, con la terza traccia dell’album *Another brick in the wall, part 1*: **la morte del padre**.

One of the most important rock opera in the history of the music, it’s a live-action/animated/musical/drama. It’s poetry. It tell us something about the general human follies, result from historical, political and social issues mixed with existential disease, abandonment, isolation, fear and an inability to love and be loved. The opera is full of symbolism, first of all, obviously the metaphorical wall, built brick by brick from overwhelming and oppressive relationship with both, people and institution. We broke in the genesis of this wall with *Another brick in the wall, part 1*: **his father’s death**
