My Reason For Sharing This Post

When I was a very young child my Dad became seriously ill. He was in and out of hospital for about three years and I really thought he was going to die (luckily he didn’t and is still with us today). The helplessness that I felt was compounded by the fact that the Doctors never actually knew what was wrong with him. This was a catalyst that sent me on a lifelong quest to discover the curative effects of food and natural medicine and thus take control of my health.

The Curse Of Cancer

Fast forward about thirty five years. After literally five years of regular visits to the doctors and pain fuelled trips to accident & emergency my very close friend is diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He’d been turned away a multitude of times and made to feel as he was a hypochondriac, because “he was far too young to have cancer”. My friend was given twelve months to live but chemo reduced that to around five. I have never witnessed illness take hold of someone so quickly and the chemo was literally the fuel to the fire that was raging in his body. Personally if I was given a terminal diagnosis then I would run as far away as I could from any form of chemotherapy. Incidentally my Mum worked in palliative care and she is of the same opinion. In the eyes of the professionals the terminal prognosis offers no hope and even if offered chemotherapy your body is often simply far too ill to cope with the debilitating health effects of these drugs. Boosting The Immune System

From my research, I understood that the only thing that has any potential to cure such cancer is our own bodies immune system. At the time it was difficult for people to see the validity of this statement. Although since then (and you can research this) cancer treatment has indeed begun to head in this direction. They have hailed this concept as a revolutionary breakthrough! This is because they now have patented drugs to boost your immunity. I wrote my friend out a dietary and supplement plan as a way of boosting his immune system but alas he was only able to put his faith in the medical establishment. Fighting Cancer

The first key steps you need to take on the long road of defeating cancer is to automatically remove all sugar (white refined sugar is the worst) from your diet. Your body needs a certain amount of sugar but fruit is bountiful in natural sugars. This is because refined sugar has been shown to literally feed cancer and in many cases refined sugars can also be the cause of said cancer. Secondly cut out all dairy products, when you think about it cow’s milk is there to grow a small calf to full maturity within a very short space of time. As such there is mounting evidence that it can also feed tumours. Equally you must avoid any form of processed food as this destroys gut health. If you simply must take milk then use goats milk, it’s the only form of animal milk that the human body can digest and is actually fairly close to human breast milk. If you are able to, then go for walks and if you can’t then try to sit outside for the body needs to be oxygenated. Another important aspect is to alkaline and balance your bodies PH levels. The Plan

I'm certainly not going to give you a strict diet that you'll be unable to stick to, I just want offer some guidelines and ideas for boosting your immune system. Within these guidelines you can make food to your own taste, although I will say that for breakfast I advise porridge and (or) a smoothie. Firstly there is a big difference between juicers and smoothie makers for the latter keep the essential fibre that you need. Secondly if you do make a smoothie then try to use more vegetables than fruit as the fruit will have a higher sugar content. That said it's the refined sugar you really want to avoid. In fact I'll go a step further and strongly advise you avoid pretty much anything that's refined, including bread and salt. One thing you definitely want to include in your smoothies is broccoli as this has been shown to reduce tumour growth. Just have a play around with a few things and sure add some fruit to refine the taste. Buy your own kefir grains (not shop bottles), add them to full fat goats milk then leave them for 24hrs drain the milk and then drink it. You can repeat this process and if you look after the grains they will last forever, don’t worry once the kefir has fermented the milk it is no longer like a dairy product. As we age and with the consumption of processed food our guts become leaky and as such the vast majority of food passes through our body with no nutritional benefit. The kefir basically restores the stomachs natural bacterial balance and enables the absorbtion of essential nutrients. To make Dandelion Root powder, let's start at the beginning. This would be collecting the seed. The seed is at the base of the white fluffy crown that appears when the yellow flower matures. Blow on them and they fly away. These little seeds do not grow until the next spring. I collect the seeds in May and June, then I put them in the freezer. This way you fool Mother Nature as the seeds must freeze before they grow. This way you can grow the seed the same year you collect them. Work up the land where you are going to plant them and spread the seeds on top of the ground and rake them [into the soil] very lightly and water [them]. I usually plant the seeds in August. I dig up the seedlings the next April. I try to do all my transplanting in April as by the end of April they start blooming which takes the energy away from making roots. It's a good thing to pick the buds off for the first couple of months. When I dig the seedlings up in April, I plant them about 6 inches apart in rows 18 to 20 inches apart. I hoe them when needed and keep the weeds and grass out of them. After about 2 months you won't be able to hoe as they will cover the ground. Then I pull the weeds and grass out of the bed. Water when needed. I usually start digging them up in October. By this time some of the roots will be 1 inch in diameter. I shake off most of the dirt [but not all] and slice lengthwise the bigger roots to about 1/4 inch so they will dry evenly. To dry them I use a forced-air incubator without any water in it. I set the incubator at 100 degrees or a little less. It takes about 5 days until they are ready to grind. You can use a dehydrator set around 100 degrees. If it doesn't have settings, don't use it. You can also dry in the sun if you put them in something the wind can blow through, like a small potato or onion sack. Hang them in the sun but take them down in the late afternoon and put in a plastic sack and tie it. If you don't they will pick up moisture and you will be back where you started. Then put them out the next day when the sun is up. Once you have heat in the house, it's no trouble as they will dry OK most anywhere there is heat, like near a register or stove. The excess dirt will pop off as they dry. Mother Nature knows how much to leave. If the roots are very clean, add a little dirt as this powder won't work without the dirt. When you make powder, try not to lose anything. Pound the roots flat, then put in an electric coffee grinder for 25 seconds and you have powder. You can also keep pounding and crumbling until you have it the right fineness. What I did for a long time, a friend gave me a cast iron pestle and mortar. With this, you can get it down as fine as you wish. To store, put in an air-tight jar and fill as near to the top as possible. I've kept it 10 months this way. Also, keep in a dry place. My Soup Cures Colds

Obviously I've already highlighted numerous immune system boosters. But if a cold or flu manages to sneek past then try my strong tomato soup! I have this when I'm ill and I can literally feel it curing me and everyone I know swears by it. If I was doing it for myself I'd roast 3-4 nice size (cut in half) tomatoes, & one nice size onion. Put them in the oven with a drizzle of olive oil at a medium temperature for an hour to an hour and a half. Half way through take 5-6 nice size garlic cloves and mash them up with a fork (do not cook them). The process of mashing garlic produces a chemical reaction that generates both hydrogen sulfide (which is great for your heart and blood pressure) and Allicin which is a great anti-bacterial, equally garlic is anti carcinogenic. Remove the tomatoes and onions from the oven place in a blender, add the garlic and a teaspoon of bouillion organic vegetable stock. Then add enough boiling water for a liberal size bowl, mix together, pour and then enjoy. I swear by this recipe as does anyone that trys it when they're feeling run down. It literally woks within hours, sometimes sooner.
