Continuando con mi relato de este maravilloso viaje, les comento que al día siguiente de aterrizar e irnos al hotel fuimos de tour en un bus de dos pisos, esto me encantó, primera vez que subía en uno y de verdad que la experiencia fue super agradable, recorrimos gran parte de Cartagenas y conocimos un poco de la historia del lugar, el servicio en ese bus fue excelente, podíamos subirnos 2 días seguidos así que valió la pena, aparte de que tenía sus estaciones por lo que si decidiamos bajar y recorrer algún sitio caminando, pues podíamos hacerlo y esperar el siguiente bus y subirnos, cosa que hicimos. Desde el primer día ya estábamos realizando actividades, conociendo esta ciudad rodeada de mucho mar, disfrutando de su gastronomía, de su paisaje, del calor de playa que extrañaba mucho, de la lluvia a cántaros y de la compañía de mi amiga y su familia. ***Ciudad Amurallada*** Hicimos todo el recorrido del bus hasta llegar al punto de partida donde fuimos a la Ciudad Amurallada y vale decir que es impresionante, tanto por su arquitectura como por su historia. La muralla está hecha de piedras de coral ya que era el material con el que contaban en los años 1500 para construir y poder protegerse de la invasión pirata, aparte de que este material abunda en la zona y si, de por allí viene la famosa canción que dice en los años 1600 pam pam pam, Jajaja. De verdad que dentro de ella se siente extraño, un olor peculiar, imagino que por los corales y el tiempo que llevan allí, es impresionante ver cómo vivían y saber parte de su historia aunque claro está que le han hecho restauraciones y hay espacios usados como locales comerciales actuales pero mantienen su esencia. Ese día llegamos cansados de tanto caminar recorriendo las calles de esa ciudad y de disfrutar el atardecer allí dentro, las fotos están divinas. ***Castillo de San Felipe*** Al día siguiente fuimos al Castillo de San Felipe y vaya que hermosura de edificación, su diseño es imponente, transmite una sensación como mezclada de historia, cultura, miedo a lo desconocido, con la gran interrogante de saber que pasaba allí y claro hicimos conjeturas sobre su uso. Fue una experiencia extrañamente agradable, a pesar de que recorrimos los pasillos o túneles medio tenebrosos lo pasamos genial, de verdad que el ambiente lo pone uno, reímos mucho por esos pasillos, inventando historias y tomando fotos espontáneas. Fue muy agradable estar allí. El castillo en la noche tiene una iluminación impresionante de verdad, es una hermosura, vale la pena visitarlo. ***Getsemaní*** Hermosas y coloridas calles. Transmiten mucha vida, su gente siempre alegre, super atenta y el ambiente muy chispeante, cabe destacar que los cielos de sus calles estrechas están decorados con banderas, sombrillas y más artículos coloridos que le dan ese atractivo turístico que de verdad atrae mucha gente. En cada rincón encuentras negocios de venta de comida, bebida y souvenirs para el disfrute de este sector de Cartagena. Ahh y con música costeña en vivo que invita a bailar, una hermosura de experiencia. ***Isla Encantada*** Para el tercer día teníamos planificado un tour a Islas Corales del Rosario y como bien lo indica su nombre está repleta de corales (hermoso y super importante darle su valor ya que contribuyen con la vida marina y del planeta) es un pequeño archipiélago formado por unas 28 islas y la que visitamos fue Isla Encantada, pero antes de ir allí hicimos parada en el Oceanario donde vimos un pequeño show con los delfines, con tiburones y conocimos varias especies marinas bien chevere. Era la primera vez que estaba en un espectáculo así y sinceramente fue encantador, me sentía como una niña allí. Este viaje a la isla fue en bote y duró casi 1 hora, así que pueden imaginarse la ansiedad por llegar a tierra firme por ver tanta agua por todos lados, obviamente llevamos chalecos salvavidas y fue un buen traslado ya que el capitán y la tripulación tienen dominio de su área y conocen muy bien el mar, también nos contaron sobre la historia de estas islas, parte de los alrededores y sobre las actividades que realizan así como nos concientizaron sobre la conservación del ambiente. El paisaje es impresionante, de verdad que los azules, el cielo despejado, la imponencia del mar, el aire puro, ese calor tropical que destaca al Mar Caribe sinceramente majestuoso y si le añadimos la atención por parte de los lugareños quedo sin palabras. Al llegar a la Isla me dije a mi misma: ¡Mi misma, esta es la vida que te mereces! jajaja de verdad, quedé impresionada, maravillada por el lugar (espero disfruten las fotos tanto como yo), se hace un recorrido a pie de un extremo de la isla a otro que es donde está la playa, en ese recorrido disfruté de lo hermosas que son las casas, de la brisa de los árboles, y de la compañía de unos amables perritos Firu y Lais jajajajaja. Los lugareños son super amables y educados, por cierto, esa isla no cuenta con electricidad, quedé atónita con esto, por lo que deben ir a tierra firme a cargar las baterías, plantas eléctricas y demás dispositivos. ***Mindfulness*** Mientras iba en el bote disfrutando de la vista que me ofrecían las aguas de Cartagena tuve un momento de conexión conmigo y la naturaleza, de disfrute pleno de lo que estaba sucediendo en ese instante, de ese viaje de placer. Con la fuerte convicción de que el tiempo de Dios es perfecto, de que hay mucho por disfrutar en esta vida, que con una buena planificación y muchas ganas se puede viajar y conocer países, pueblitos y demás. Que todo en la vida son decisiones, y yo he decidido ser feliz, decidí disfrutar mi vida y avanzar. ***Playa Blanca*** El cuarto día al igual que los demás estuvo cargado de muchas expectativas y ganas de disfrutar. Así que organizamos un viaje a una isla llamada Barú, este recorrido fue en bus y debo resaltar que la atención que recibimos por parte de los encargados del tour fue excelente, super atentos y con buena disposición. El recorrido fue de poco más de 1 hora así que pude conocer las calles de Cartagena, disfrutar del paisaje, de su clima, de su gente. Al llegar a la isla hicimos un recorrido caminando donde pasan muchas personas, luego llegamos a la playa que de verdad, se merece un gran WOW, eso era, mejor dicho, es el paraíso. La arena super limpia, el mar cristalino, todo bien ordenado, cuidado, la disposición de los lugareños para atender siempre de excelente calidad. Sinceramente, cada rincón nuevo que visitamos era tan o mejor que el anterior. Tomamos buenas decisiones al ir a estos lugares. El tour era un paquete que incluía el traslado ida y vuelta así como el almuerzo. Ah y de eso debo mencionar que tenían una buena mezcla de sabores y de verdad que ayuda a captar mejor la esencia de Cartagena, de Colombia. A mi parecer los platos que probé al igual que las bebidas estuvieron a la altura. Ese arroz de coco (que comí varias veces) estará en mi corazón para siempre, sinceramente. De hecho, al llegar a Perú fui a un restaurante colombiano buscando este plato, aunque no lo encontré, así que ahora tengo una misión que cumplir y estaré gustosa de lograrla. Creo que debería hacerle un post sólo a ese arroz porque es una delicia, lo haré. Siguiendo con el relato, debo comentar que si bien la pasamos super duper también hubo algo que nos acortó la instancia en ese lugar y es que comenzó a llover, y aunque al principio era sólo lluvia divina, aquí hago paréntesis, y es que tenía años sin sentir la lluvia que cayera sobre mi, años que no me bañaba en la lluvia ya que aqui en Lima donde resido hay como garúa, claro hay partes del país donde si llueve pero es muy lejos de donde estoy. Continúo, esta lluvia era a cántaros por lo que debimos regresar antes de lo esperado a nuestro hotel y bueno, en el camino hubo mucha demora debido a que no solamente llovía sino que fue prolongada por lo que hubo pequeñas inundaciones y congestión vehicular. Sin embargo lo tomamos de buen humor y no dejamos que nos afectara. Al llegar al hotel fuimos a cenar, rico debo mencionar, la comida marina del lugar es rica. Y apareció ese olor como a coral en el restaurante, yo digo que es de coral porque varios sitios huelen igual y sus paredes están revestidas de ese material, así que asumo que es por el coral. Asumo. Al siguiente día fue algo más corto, desayunamos en el hotel que debo mencionar también, sus desayunos son riquisimos y la atención de todos los que allí laboran es super cálida, ese día fuimos a almorzar fuera y pasamos tiempo tranqui ya que ese dia era mi retorno a Lima, carita triste, por lo que debía irme en la tarde al aeropuerto. ***Despedida*** Siempre son un tanto difíciles, después de pasar unos días entre familia, porque así me sentí, después de tener tantos años sin ver a mi amiga, super dificil de verdad. Pero sé que disfrutamos al máximo, todos la pasamos muy bien y me alegra ver y saber que sólo hay muchos km de distancia entre ambas pero la cercanía es mayor. ***El vuelo*** El regreso de Cartagena a Bogotá tuvo retrasos por el mal clima sin embargo cuando hubo mejoras pudimos despegar. En el avión se encontraban unas niñas super lindas uniformadas y con la mochila de su colegio, creo que tuvieron competencia y el vuelo fue chévere porque estaban con sus risas y conversaciones risueñas, aparte de que eran de otro país por lo que tenían un acento divino. Bueno, el vuelo fue chevere hasta que hubo turbulencia , aunque debo decir que estuve tranquila, mantuve la calma y quería descansar pero no podía porque la pareja a mi lado estaba nerviosa, la señora estaba nerviosa realmente y el esposo no hallaba cómo ayudarla. Así que entré en acción y debo confesar que me sorprendió lo que hice y por otro lado me autofelicito, porque, contexto, para esa fecha del viaje estaba inmersa en lecturas y terapias de relajación, respiración, reiki, alineación de chakras y más autoconciencia por lo que regularmente encontraba formas de relajarme, de disfrutar el presente y más, así que pues bien puse mis talentos ocultos jajaja en acción. Tomé a la señora de un brazo, algo medio random puesto que no la conocía y comencé a hablarle, le dije repetidas veces: Eres fuerte, eres valiente, eres fuerte, eres valiente y así hasta que se fue calmando, luego le dije vamos a hacer respiraciones, algo que llamo y llaman **La Caja** que es una técnica de respiración que consiste en dibujar mentalmente una caja mientras se hacen los ejercicios y que funciona maravillosamente, por lo que le dije tome aire y cuente 1, 2, 3, 4 aguante la respiración 1, 2, 3, 4 bote el aire 1, 2, 3, 4 contenga la respiración 1, 2, 3, 4 y así varias veces hasta que controló su estado de pánico y ansiedad. Fue maravilloso poder ayudarla, el efecto fue inmediato, su esposo me agradeció y ella mantuvo la calma durante el resto del vuelo, cuando estuvo más relajada me agradeció y le dije que ese ejercicio lo puede hacer cuando se encuentre en situaciones así de estrés para que regrese al presente rápidamente. Luego al llegar a Bogotá tuve que correr literalmente de la zona de aterrizaje a la zona de embarque del otro avión ya que por el retraso del primer vuelo íbamos tarde, varias personas también corrían pero la aerolínea sabía bien del retraso por lo que hubo un tiempo de espera y al abordar casi que en 10 minutos despegamos para retornar a Lima, super rápido. En ese vuelo de regreso viví una experiencia hermosa, al despegar el avión pude ver la hermosa Bogotá de noche, con sus calles iluminadas y agradecí tanto a Dios poder tener esa vivencia, se me llenó el corazón de un sentimiento raro porque se mezcla alegría, nostalgia, emoción. Ya en el vuelo cené, dormí y al llegar al aeropuerto todo estaba tranquilo, claro, el mismo miedito que da al aterrizar pero todo super. Al bajar del avión era poco más de media noche y tomé taxi por aplicativo hasta donde vivo. Estaba algo exhausta, porque aunque no se crea y a pesar de que prácticamente no hago nada durante el viaje, una se agota así que llegué a casa solté la mochila y todo lo que llevaba, me preparé y fui a dormir. ***Palabras finales*** Estoy enormemente agradecida con Dios, la vida, con mi amiga y su familia, y conmigo misma por tan maravillosa experiencia, por haberme atrevido a viajar sola de un país a otro, por lo enriquecedor que fue todo el viaje, por los nuevos lugares conocidos, a las personas de Cartagena que nos atendieron tan amables, asertivos y con una vocación impactante. Agradezco también a mi cuerpo por portarse bien, por probar nuevos platos, por lo mágico del viaje. Obviamente, ya hemos planificado otro viaje, así que se viene un nuevo post jaja.

Continuing with my account of this wonderful trip, I inform you that the day after landing and going to the hotel, we went on a tour on a double-decker bus, which I loved. It was the first time I had ever been on one, and the experience was truly pleasant. We toured a large part of Cartagena and learned a little about the history of the place. The service on that bus was excellent, we could ride for 2 consecutive days, so it was worth it. Besides, it had its stops, so if we decided to get off and explore a place on foot, we could do so and wait for the next bus to get back on, which is what we did. From the first day, we were already doing activities, getting to know this city surrounded by a lot of sea, enjoying its gastronomy, its landscape, the beach heat that I missed so much, the heavy rain, and the company of my friend and her family. ***Ciudad Amurallada*** We did the whole bus tour until we reached the starting point, where we went to the Walled City, and I must say it is impressive, both for its architecture and its history. The wall is made of coral stones since it was the material they had in the 1500s to build and protect themselves from pirate invasions. Besides, this material is abundant in the area, and yes, from there comes the famous song that says in the 1600s bam bam bam, hahaha. It truly feels strange inside it, a peculiar smell, I imagine due to the corals and the time they have been there, it is impressive to see how they lived and to learn a part of their history, although it is clear that there have been restorations and there are spaces used as current commercial premises but maintaining their essence. That day we arrived tired from so much walking through the streets of that city and enjoying the sunset there, the photos are divine. ***Castillo de San Felipe*** The next day we went to San Felipe Castle and what a beauty of a building, its design is imposing, it conveys a sensation mixed with history, culture, fear of the unknown, with the great question of what happened there and of course we made conjectures about its use. It was a strangely pleasant experience, even though we walked through the slightly creepy hallways or tunnels, we had a great time, really the atmosphere is what makes it, we laughed a lot along those corridors, inventing stories and taking spontaneous photos. It was very nice to be there. The castle at night has an impressive lighting, it is truly beautiful, it is worth visiting. ***Getsemaní*** Beautiful and colorful streets. They convey a lot of life, with cheerful people, super attentive, and a very lively atmosphere. It is worth noting that the skies of its narrow streets are decorated with flags, umbrellas, and more colorful items that give it that tourist attraction that truly attracts many people. In every corner, you will find businesses selling food, drinks, and souvenirs for the enjoyment of this sector of Cartagena. Ahh, and with live coastal music that invites you to dance, a beautiful experience. ***Isla Encantada*** For the third day we had planned a tour to Rosario Coral Islands and as its name suggests it is full of corals (beautiful and super important to give them their value as they contribute to marine life and the planet) it is a small archipelago formed by about 28 islands and the one we visited was Enchanted Island, but before going there we made a stop at the Aquarium where we saw a small show with the dolphins, with sharks and met several marine species which was pretty cool. It was the first time I was at a show like that and honestly it was lovely, I felt like a child there. This trip to the island was by boat and lasted almost 1 hour, so you can imagine the anxiety to reach land to see so much water all around, obviously we wore life jackets and it was a good transfer since the captain and crew have mastery of their area and know the sea very well, they also told us about the history of these islands, part of the surroundings and about the activities they carry out as well as raising awareness about environmental conservation. The landscape is impressive, really the blues, the clear sky, the grandeur of the sea, the fresh air, that tropical heat that highlights the Caribbean Sea truly majestic and if we add the attention from the locals, I am speechless. Upon arriving on the island I said to myself: Myself, this is the life you deserve! hahaha really, I was impressed, amazed by the place (I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do), there is a walking tour from one end of the island to the other where the beach is, during that tour I enjoyed how beautiful the houses are, the breeze from the trees, and the company of some friendly dogs Firu and Lais hahahaha. The locals are super friendly and polite, by the way, that island does not have electricity, I was astonished by this, so they have to go to the mainland to charge their batteries, electric plants, and other devices. ***Mindfulness*** While I was on the boat enjoying the view that the waters of Cartagena offered me, I had a moment of connection with myself and nature, of full enjoyment of what was happening at that moment, of that pleasure trip. With the strong conviction that God's time is perfect, that there is much to enjoy in this life, that with good planning and lots of desire you can travel and get to know countries, small towns, and more. That everything in life is decisions, and I have decided to be happy, I have decided to enjoy my life and move forward. ***Playa Blanca*** The fourth day, like the others, was full of many expectations and desires to enjoy. So we organized a trip to an island called Barú, this tour was by bus and I must emphasize that the attention we received from the tour guides was excellent, super attentive and with a good disposition. The journey was a little over 1 hour so I could see the streets of Cartagena, enjoy the scenery, the weather, the people. Upon arriving at the island we went for a walk where many people pass by, then we arrived at the beach that truly deserves a big WOW, that was, in other words, it is paradise. The sand super clean, the sea crystal clear, everything well organized, taken care of, the willingness of the locals to always provide excellent service. Honestly, every new corner we visited was as good or better than the previous one. We made good decisions to go to these places. The tour was a package that included round trip transportation as well as lunch. Oh, and I must mention that they had a good mix of flavors that truly helped capture the essence of Cartagena, of Colombia. In my opinion, the dishes I tried as well as the drinks were top-notch. That coconut rice (that I ate several times) will be in my heart forever, honestly. In fact, when I arrived in Peru I went to a Colombian restaurant looking for this dish, although I did not find it, so now I have a mission to fulfill and I will be happy to achieve it. I think I should write a post just about that rice because it is a delight, I will do it. Continuing with the story, I must mention that while we had a great time, there was something that shortened our time in that place and that is that it started raining, and although at first it was just divine rain, here I digress, and it had been years since I felt the rain fall on me, years since I bathed in the rain as here in Lima where I live there is like drizzle, of course there are parts of the country where it does rain but it is very far from where I am. Moving on, this rain was pouring down so we had to return to our hotel earlier than expected and well, on the way there was a lot of delay because not only was it raining but it was prolonged so there were small floods and traffic congestion. However, we took it with good humor and did not let it affect us. Upon arriving at the hotel, we went to have dinner, delicious I must mention, the seafood at the place is tasty. And that smell like coral appeared in the restaurant, I say it's coral because various places have the same smell and their walls are lined with that material, so I assume it's because of the coral. I assume. The next day was a bit shorter, we had breakfast at the hotel which I must also mention, their breakfasts are delicious and the attention of all the staff there is super warm, that day we went out for lunch and spent a relaxing time since it was my return to Lima, sad face, so I had to head to the airport in the afternoon. ***Farewell*** Always a bit difficult after spending a few days with family, because that's how it felt, after so many years without seeing my friend, really hard. But I know we enjoyed it to the fullest, everyone had a great time and I'm glad to see and know that there are only many kilometers of distance between us but the closeness is greater. ***The Flight*** The return from Cartagena to Bogota was delayed due to bad weather, however when conditions improved we were able to take off. There were some cute little girls in uniform with their school backpack on the plane, I think they were on a school trip and the flight was fun because of their laughter and cheerful conversations, besides they were from another country so they had a lovely accent. Well, the flight was great until there was turbulence, although I must say that I remained calm, kept my composure and wanted to rest but couldn't because the couple next to me was nervous, the lady was really nervous and the husband couldn't find a way to help her. So I took action and I must confess that I was surprised by what I did and on the other hand I congratulate myself, because, context, at that time I was immersed in readings and relaxation therapies, breathing exercises, reiki, chakra alignment, and more self-awareness so I regularly found ways to relax, enjoy the present moment, and more, so I put my hidden talents into action. I took the lady's arm, somewhat randomly since I didn't know her, and started talking to her, I told her repeatedly: You are strong, you are brave, you are strong, you are brave until she began to calm down, then I said let's do some breathing exercises, something I call and they call **The Box** which is a breathing technique that involves mentally drawing a box while doing the exercises and it works wonderfully, so I told her take a breath and count 1, 2, 3, 4 hold the breath 1, 2, 3, 4 exhale 1, 2, 3, 4 hold the breath 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on several times until she gained control over her panic and anxiety. It was wonderful to be able to help her, the effect was immediate, her husband thanked me and she remained calm for the rest of the flight, when she was more relaxed she thanked me and I told her that she can do that exercise when she finds herself in stressful situations to return to the present quickly. Upon arriving in Bogotá, I had to literally run from the landing area to the boarding gate of the other plane since due to the delay of the first flight, we were running late. Several people were also running, but the airline was well aware of the delay, so there was some waiting time before boarding, and almost within 10 minutes of boarding, we took off to return to Lima, super fast. On that return flight, I had a beautiful experience. As the plane took off, I could see the beautiful Bogotá at night, with its illuminated streets, and I thanked God for being able to have that experience. My heart was filled with a strange feeling because it mixes joy, nostalgia, and excitement. Once on the flight, I had dinner, slept, and upon arriving at the airport, everything was calm. Of course, there was that little fear when landing, but everything was great. When I got off the plane, it was a little past midnight, and I took a taxi via app to where I live. I was somewhat exhausted, because even though it may not seem like it and despite practically not doing anything during the trip, one gets tired. So, I arrived home, dropped my backpack and all I was carrying, got ready, and went to sleep. ***Final Words*** I am immensely grateful to God, life, my friend and her family, and myself for such a wonderful experience, for daring to travel alone from one country to another, for how enriching the whole trip was, for the new places I visited, to the people in Cartagena who treated us so kindly, assertively, and with an impactful vocation. I also thank my body for behaving well, for trying new dishes, for the magic of the trip. Obviously, we have already planned another trip, so a new post is coming haha.
