Hello friends who love adventures, once again I am visiting this beautiful community to bring you a post where I will pilot my Mavic over a castle which is considered one of the top 5 most beautiful in Portugal. I will explain the history of this fortress which was built in the era of the Moors (10th century). If you follow my posts, I have detailed the history of Portugal countless times. We know that this beautiful country is one of the oldest in Europe and therefore there is a lot of history involved, and clearly the Castle of Ourem is no exception. It is believed that due to the river (Seiça) being close to the hills, some human settlement lived here permanently in the Bronze Age, however the oldest evidence dates back to the Romanesque era.🧭⛺

Si acompanas mis publicaciones ya innumerables veces detalle la historia de Portugal, sabemos que este lindo pais es uno de los mas antiguos de Europa y por ello hay muchisima historia envolvida, y claramente el Castillo de Ourem no es exepcion, se cree que debido al rio (Seiça) estar proximo de las colinas algun asentamiento humano vivio aqui de forma permanente en la era de Bronce, sin embargo las evidencias mas antiguas datan de la era Romanica.👨🏻‍🏫⛰️📸

The Castle was built on one of the hills or highest points of Ourem from which we can enjoy the best views of the medieval valley when we are visiting the Castle! If you come to visit you must visit the village as it still preserves many medieval aspects from when it was declared a Portuguese town in the 11th century, I leave you the coordinates of the place if you want to visit it (39 ° 38′ 28 ″ N, 8 ° 35′ 31 ″ W), you can go up the hill either on foot doing one of the trails or come with your own vehicle, I warn you there is no public transportation.👨🏻‍🏫🧭

El Castillo fue construido en una de las colinas o puntos mas altos de Ourem la cual podemos disfrutar de las mejores vistas del valle medieval cuando estamos visitando el Castillo! si vienes de visita debes visitar la aldea ya que aun conserva muchos aspectos medievales de cuando fue declarado un pueblo Portugues en el siglo XI, te dejo las coordenadas del lugar si quieres visitarlo (39° 38′ 28″ N, 8° 35′ 31″ O), puedes subir a la colina tanto caminando haciendo alguno de los senderos o venir con un vehiculo propio, te advierto no hay transporte publico.🏰🚩🌍

Without a doubt, this is an easy question to answer! Visiting the Castle is like taking a trip back almost two thousand years to the Portuguese past, reaching the famous era of the reconquests, when Portugal was under Arab rule and a great character called D. Alfonso the Conqueror took over these lands through several battles until he recovered Ourem and its fortress. In addition, this monument was classified as "national heritage" and considered one of the most beautiful castles in Portugal.🧭👨🏻‍🏫

Sin duda una pregunta muy facil de responder! visitar el Castillo es hacer un viaje de casi dos mil anos al pasado Portugues llegando a la famosa era de las reconquistas, cuando Portugal estaba bajo el dominio Arabico y un gran personaje llamado D. Alfonso el (conquistador) se hizo con estas tierras mediante varias batallas hasta recuperar Ourem y su fortaleza, ademas este monumento fue clasificado como "patrimonio nacional" y considerado uno de los castillos mas lindos de Portugal.📸⛰️

Here we see a medieval gate that was restored, it is not every day we get to see something so beautiful and historic that is more than five years old, we are talking about the prehistoric era but the history of Ourem does not end there, later these lands were governed by the Romans from the 1st century AD until 600-700 possibly and it was at that point in history that the Moors arrived in Portugal and settled until the 11th century when a Portuguese decided to conquer what already belonged to them, and that era was called "reconquests" then D. Alfonso created an army and went to Ourem and fought, recovering the city in which a fortress already existed where the castle was.🌍🌲 #

Aqui vemos una puerta medieval que fue restaurada, no todos los dias conseguimos ver algo tan bonito e historio con mas de quiniestos anos, hablamos de la era prehistorica pero la historia de Ourem no termina alli, posteriormente estas tierras fueron gobernadas por los Romanos desde el siglo I despues de Cristo hasta el 600-700 posiblemente y fue cuando en ese punto de la historia los Moros llegan a Portugal y se establecen hasta el siglo XI fue cuando un Portugues decide conquistar lo que ya pertenecia, y a esa era se le llamo "reconquistas" entonces D. Alfonso creo un ejercito y fue hacia Ourem y combatio recuperando la ciudad en la que ya existia una fortaleza donde estaba el castillo.📸🌄

In 1178, a Portuguese document mentions for the first time the existence of a "triangular fortress" in the areas around the river "Seiça", possibly alluding to this castle. In 1180, D. Alfonso gave the lands of Ourem to his daughter Teresa and expressed this in an ecclesiastical letter. This is because the order of the castle at that time was that of the Templars, in reality Alfonso was a Templar warrior. Centuries later, in 1245, there was a dispute within the crown and one of the most curious wars took place within the castle, however, it ended up resisting.🏰🫅🏻🤴🏻

En el ano 1178 se menciona por primera vez en un documento Portugues la existencia de "una fortaleza triangular" en las zonas alrededor del rio "Seiça" haciendose posiblemente alusion de este castillo, en el ano 1180 D. Alfonso le obsequia las tierras de Ourem a su hija Teresa y lo deja expresado en una carta eclasiastica. Esto porque la orden de los castillo en la epoca eran de los templarios, en realidad Alfonso fue un guerrero templario. Siglos despues en 1245 hubo una disputa en la corona y se disputo una de las guerras mas curiosas dentro del castillo sin embargo acabo por resistir.💂🏻‍♀️💂🏻‍♂️

Then in the 13th century when the castle had already been donated to various royal castes, another war occurred where the castle witnessed the death of several Portuguese soldiers under the order of (Master of Avis), later the golden age of the castle and the city of Ourem was in the 15th century post-medieval era and entering the age of discoveries, here several improvements were made and other towers were built to the castle.🫅🏻🤴🏻

Luego en el siglo XIII cuando el castillo habia ya sido donado a varias castas de la realeza, ocurrio otra guerra donde el castillo fue testigo de la muerte de varios soldados Portugueses a la orden de ( Maestro de Avis), posteriormente la era de oro del castillo y la ciudad de Ourem fue en el siglo XV epoca post medieval y entrando a la epoca de los descubrimientos, aqui se hicieron varias mejoras y construyeron otras torres al castillo.👨🏻‍🏫🧭

1755 was the most tragic year in the entire history of Portugal, if you didn't know it was when it suffered a great earthquake that has been recorded as the worst in the history of mankind, killing thousands of Portuguese, in fact a portion of the population of Portugal was reduced after the earthquake, and historical monuments like this castle suffered great damage, in fact many other castles disappeared after the earthquake and could never be recovered, however Ourem despite suffering serious damage was restored.🚩🧭

1755 fue el ano mas tragico de toda la historia de Portugal, si no sabias fue cuando sufrio un gran terremoto que ha sido registrado como los peores de la historia de la humanidad matando miles de Portugueses, en realidad una porcion de la poblacion de Portugal se redujo luego del terremoto, y los monumentos historicos como este castillo sufrieron grandes danos, en realidad muchos otros castillos desaparecieron post-terremoto y nunca se pudieron recuperar, sin embargo Ourem apesar de sufrir danos graves se logro su restauracion.🌍📸

We already know how ambitious Napoleon was and in fact his ambition was such that he wanted to conquer Europe, few know this part of history because it is not told but Napoleon invaded Portugal however the Portuguese who were allies of the English fought several wars giving one of the worst defeats to the French who were allies of the Spanish who spent all history trying to "annoy Portugal", and in Ourem one of the bloodiest battles took place in the castle who despite resisting the siege of Napoleon fell at the hands of the French but were later expelled.🌍🌲 #

Ya sabemos lo ambicioso que era Napoleon y en realidad su ambicion fue tal que queria conquistar europa, pocos conocen esta parte de la historia porque no se cuenta pero Napoleon invadio Portugal sin embargo los Portugueses que eran aliados de los ingleses combatieron varias guerras propinando una de las peores derrotas a los Franceses quienes eran Aliados de los Espanoles quienes pasaron toda la historia intentando "molestar portugal", y en Ourem se llevo a cabo una de las batallas mas sangrientes en el castillo quien apesar de resistir el asedio de Napoleon cayo a mano de los franceses pero luego fueron expulsado.📸🌄
