I don't know if you remember, but I was also at Talent Land Guadalajara last year, and Hive's participation this year was off the charts. Not only did we achieve much more than the previous year, but we also set a precedent, in my view, for how Hive should approach future events. This year we had a stand like the one you see in the first image, and believe it or not, this attracts a lot of people. But that wasn't the differentiator; it was the way we focused on explaining and demonstrating to people how to practically live outside the system through Hive. With the help of @brianoflondon and @sagarkothari88, we had a "Selfie App" that new users could use to create a small intro or post with a simple selfie. Once you have an account created and the user configured in @keychain, we taught them how to use the Selfie App step by step, starting by scanning a printed QR that led them to open the web in Keychain's internal browser. The steps inside were very simple: you log in, upload a selfie, write a bit about yourself or the event, mention who is helping you, choose a lightning address (or keep the one from @v4v.app), and post. Just by posting, the app sent you 2 HBD and about 1000 sats to start your adventure, which involves us pretending to be a business so they can experience buying a product without paying a fee, without giving their data to a bank, without third parties involved, and claiming a 20% cashback. ![IMG_6093.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/manuphotos/EoGxtgSJiJ6BbgVSVF8hkMeoDhfvuD8Ao29KG4facyaEgy87h2TL6WC8LM7hG4aHYuF.jpeg) This is how, using one of those 2 HBD, new users "paid" for a t-shirt using Keychain, and since we used the @v4vapp point of sale, they could claim a 20% discount at @distriator. The idea was for them to replicate the same in real businesses, and just moments before, we had onboarded several businesses within the same event, including a German bar a few minutes from where we were. Add to that we were giving away @hivedebit cards to those who completed the entire process, which they could use in one of the businesses within the event (it was the only business with Android) and thus have an experience close to what fiat world is but using HBD all the time. For me, this was key. Every person who completed the process entered a raffle of 3 cards with up to 250 HBD in the best of them. You can't imagine the number of people constantly sitting and listening to the main speakers on the event's main stage. So having @starkerz explaining what a parallel economy based on Hive is, showing the main social networks and projects on the blockchain, as well as the potential we have in the future thanks to @vsc.network, is invaluable. Even though there wasn't a specific land for the Blockchain theme this year, the magic of Talent Land makes that irrelevant because there are so many lands where the blockchain theme can be that whenever I had time, I would take a walk to chat and see what else was being exhibited around us. It was like this, and also through people coming to our stand, that we made several connections that can bring value to Hive in different ways. Being able to provide the experience of paying with the @hivedebit card is a great advantage because it brings users who know little about crypto closer to this world in a way more similar to what they use in their daily lives. Think that the event lasts only 4 days, so we always try to make the most of the time. We always aimed to be there an hour before opening and often closed the stand at 7 PM. In total, we managed to onboard over 180 users, as you can see in this [post](https://peakd.com/hive-137017/@eddiespino/talent-land-days-3-and-4-or-onboarding-competition-results) by @eddiespino, and around 6 businesses. In my case, I managed to create the account and complete the process for 37 users and contributed to advising two businesses, which were @kort-laser and @berlins. I must add that I mediated between Hive and other companies for possible integrations such as: - Swapido: an off-ramp service to pay with lightning or HBD in local businesses that accept bank transfers. Unfortunately, the CEO didn't see the potential at the moment because he was focused on Bitcoin, but nothing stops us from using HBD thanks to @v4vapp. - Toka: a SuperApp with financial services and issuers of their own cards with a base of over 600K users. They are interested in adding some Hive DApps as mini apps within their app for their users and there is the possibility of associating some Hive financial functions like HBD savings within their ecosystem. It would be a Win-Win. - Two ESports federations: two electronic sports federations with a somewhat different focus between them, but they are very interested in integrating Hive focused on content creation in one case and in the other, educating about game creation in Web3 and communities like @mcbro has in mind. - A Logistics platform and an AI Agent: I don't remember the exact names, so I don't mention them, but both to store public information that an AI model can access, and to keep track of any logistics system, Hive can be an advantage. Just the way to store custom JSONs irreversibly is attractive to these two companies. Nothing is perfect, and neither was our entire experience. The internet connection at the Guadalajara Expo wasn't good with so many people around, and because of that, we had a lot of trouble, sometimes just getting people to download Hive Keychain. Having an Ethernet connection at the stand next time will help a lot. As a plus, I would say that an audio system to attract people's attention to any initiative we have or to announce any conference would be good to use during the event. We can create documentation for other Hivers at future events so they can follow the step-by-step process we taught new users. This also gives time to improve the Selfie app to make it a bit more intuitive or reduce steps, like having each hiver have their own link so the app already knows who the user teaching the new one is and doesn't have to fill in the Onboarder field. Many people approached me to ask about job opportunities we had at Hive, so being able to create a common job board among all Hive projects would be perfect. I understand that Genie from Peakd exists, but it is very underused, and each project ends up looking for developers or other roles on their own. --- # Conclusion In summary, this was Talent Land for me this year, and as you can see, it was no small feat. There is much more around the event that I haven't mentioned, but I'll leave it for other posts, like the news that a Cuban can now pay for anything in Mexico using HBD. Yes, it's already possible. No sé si recuerdan que hace un año estuve también en el Talent Land Guadalajara, pero la participación de Hive este año sé salió de los gráficos. No solo logramos mucho más que en el anterior año, sino que sentamos un precedente a mi ver de como Hive debe enfocar los futuros eventos. Este año pudimos contar con un stand como el que ven en la primera imagen y esto créanlo o no, atrae mucho a las personas. Pero ese no fue el diferenciador, sino la manera en que enfocamos como explicarle y demostrarle a las personas como vivir fuera del sistema prácticamente mediante Hive. De la mano de @brianoflondon y @sagarkothari88, pudimos contar con una "Selfie App" que los nuevos usuarios podían utilizar para crear una pequeña intro o publicación mediante un simple selfie. Luego de que ya tengas una cuenta creada y el usuario configurado en @keychain, les enseñábamos a usar la Selfie App paso a paso, comenzando por escanear un QR que teníamos impreso que les llevaba a abrir la web en el navegador interno de Keychain. Los paso dentro eran bien sencillos, te logueas, subes una selfie, escribes un poco sobre ti o el evento, mencionas a quién te está ayudando, eliges una dirección lightning (o mantienes la de @v4v.app) y publicas. Solo con publicar, la app te enviaba 2 HBD y cerca de 1000 sats para que comiences tu aventura que pasa por nosotros aparentar ser un negocio para que tengan la experiencia de comprar un producto sin pagar fee, sin dar sus datos a un banco, sin terceros involucrados y reclamando un cashback de un 20%. ![IMG_6093.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/manuphotos/EoGxtgSJiJ6BbgVSVF8hkMeoDhfvuD8Ao29KG4facyaEgy87h2TL6WC8LM7hG4aHYuF.jpeg) Así fue como usando uno de esos 2 HBD, los nuevos usuarios "pagaban" un t-shirt usando Keychain y, ya que nosotros usábamos el punto de venta de @v4vapp, ellos podían reclamar un 20% de descuento en @distriator. La idea de todo esto era que pudieran replicar lo mismo en negocios reales y es que momentos antes habíamos onboardeado a varios negocios dentro del mismo evento e incluso un bar alemán a pocos minutos de donde estábamos. Súmale que estábamos regalando tarjetas de @hivedebit a quienes completaban todo el proceso que podían utilizar en uno de los negocios dentro del evento (era el único negocio con Android) y así tener una experiencia tan cercana a lo que es el mundo fiat pero utilizando HBD todo el tiempo. Para mi, esto fue clave. Cada persona que completaba el proceso entraba en una rifa de 3 tarjetas con hasta 250 HBD en la mejor de ellas. Esto incentivo a muchas personas, pero sobre todo les hizo dar el primer paso de usar Hive y completar todo el círculo económico que las criptomonedas están llamadas a crear sin que les digan antes: compra mi memecoin. ![1.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/manuphotos/23wCWzsUDsq36os5voeaUdSRVhio48vyQmVRWkuFjKgKaW2WFgURr7hTbG24WThbbHiWm.png) Esto a mi ver, debe mejorarse y replicarse en todos los eventos a donde Hive vaya a partir de ahora. Incluido el @hivefest donde puede convertirse en una especie de competencia entre Hivers. --- # El Main Stage Esto es grande. No se imaginan la cantidad de personas que hay de manera constante sentadas escuchando a los principales speakers en el escenario principal del evento. Así que poder tener a @starkerz explicando lo que es una economía paralela a partir Hive, mostrar las principales redes sociales y proyectos que existen en la blockchain, así como el potencial en el futuro que tenemos gracias a @vsc.network, es algo incalculable. Aun cuando este año no existió una tierra específica para el tema Blockchain, la magia de Talent Land hace que eso no importe pues existen tantas tierras donde el tema blockchain puede estar que apenas tenia un tiempo me daba una vuelta para conversar y conocer que mas se estaba exhibiendo a nuestro alrededor. Fue así y tambien mediante personas que llegaban a nuestro estan, que hicimos varias conexiones que pueden traer valor a Hive de distintas maneras. El poder brindar la experiencia de pagar con la tarjeta de @hivedebit es un gran punto a favor pues acerca a los usuarios que poco conocen de crypto a este mundo de una manera más cercana a la que utilizan en su día a día. Piensen que el evento dura 4 días solamente, por lo que buscamos siempre aprovechar el tiempo. Siempre buscábamos estar una hora antes de la apertura y muchas veces cerrábamos el stand a las 7 de la noche. En total logramos onboardear más de 180 usuarios como pueden ver en este [post](https://peakd.com/hive-137017/@eddiespino/talent-land-days-3-and-4-or-onboarding-competition-results) de @eddiespino y alrededor de 6 negocios. En mi caso, logre crear la cuenta y completar todo el proceso a 37 usuarios, y aporte en el asesoramiento a dos negocios que fueron @kort-laser y @berlins. A esto debo sumar que medie entre Hive y otras empresas para posibles integraciones como lo son: - Swapido: un servicio off-ramp para poder pagar con lightning o HBD en negocios locales que acepten transferencias bancarias. Lastimosamente, el CEO no vio el potencial de momento por estar enfocado en Bitcoin, pero nada nos quita usar HBD gracias a @v4vapp. - Toka: una SuperApp con servicios financieros y emisores de sus propias tarjetas con un base de más de 600K usuarios. Estan interesados en sumar algunas DApps de Hive como mini apps dentro de su app para sus usuarios y existe la posibilidad de asociar algunas funciones financieras de Hive como el savings de HBD dentro de su ecosistema. Sería un Win-Win. - Dos federaciones de ESports: dos federaciones de deportes electrónicos con un enfoque algo distinto entre ambas, pero que están muy interesadas en integrar Hive enfocado a la creación de contenido en uno de los casos y en el otro, educar sobre la creación de juegos en la Web3 y de comunidades como @mcbro creo tiene en mente. - Una plataforma de Logística y una Agente IA: no recuerdo los nombres exactos y por ello no se los menciono, pero tanto para almacenar la información publica a la que un modelo IA puede acceder, como guardar el seguimiento de cualquier sistema logístico, Hive puede ser una ventaja. Solo la forma de poder almacenar JSON personalizados de manera irreversible es algo atractivo para estas dos empresas. Nada es perfecto y tampoco lo fue toda nuestra experiencia. La conexión a internet en la Expo de Guadalajara no era nada buena con tanta gente alrededor y por ello pasamos mucho trabajo, en ocasiones solo con que las personas pudieran descargar Hive Keychain. Que tengamos una conexión Ethernet en el stand para la próxima ayudara y mucho. Como un plues diria que un sistema de audio para poder llamar la atencion de las personas en cualquier iniciativa que tengamos o para anunciar cualquier conferencia seria algo bueno a emplear durante el evento. Podemos crear una documentación para otros Hivers en próximos eventos para que puedan seguir el paso a paso de seguir todo el proceso que le enseñábamos a los nuevos usuarios. Esto también da tiempo a mejorar la app de Selfie para hacerla un poco más intuitiva o reducir pasos, como que cada hiver tenga su propio link y así ya la app sabe quien es el usuario que está enseñando al nuevo y no tenga que rellenar el campo del Onboarder. Muchas personas se me acercaban para preguntar por las posibilidades de empleo que teníamos en Hive, así que de poder crear una bolsa de empleo en común entre todos los proyectos de Hive sería perfecto. Entiendo que existe Genie de Peakd, pero tiene muy poco uso y cada proyecto termina buscando desarrolladores u otros roles por su cuenta. --- # Conclusión A manera de resumen, esto fue para mí el Talent Land de este año y como ven no fue poca cosa. Hay mucho más alrededor del evento que no he mencionado, pero que lo dejaré para otras publicaciones, como la noticia de que ya un cubano pueda pagar lo que sea en México usando HBD. Sí, ya es posible. Antes de cerrar quiero agradecer a @josepimpo por toda la ayuda que siempre nos brinda antes y durante el evento. A @starkerz por todo el trabajo organizativo que ha hecho y aún más durante el evento. A @eddiespino por todo el trabajo y la preocupacion que siempre le pone a todo, sin el muchas cosas en Mexico serian muy dificiles de hacer.
