Que tal, Music Zones. Cuando se habla de grunge es imposible no pensar en “Nirvana” y en esta ocasión quiero compartir un tema de mis favoritos, "Very Ape" una canción del tercer y último álbum de estudio de Nirvana, "In Utero", lanzado en 1993. Con una duración de menos de dos minutos, es una explosión concisa de la crudeza y la intensidad que caracterizan gran parte de ese disco. Musicalmente, "Very Ape" es directa y abrasiva. Presenta un riff de guitarra pesado y disonante, la poderosa batería de Dave Grohl y la distintiva voz de Kurt Cobain, que oscila entre un canto melódico y un grito visceral. La canción encaja perfectamente con el sonido "más crudo" que Nirvana buscaba en "In Utero" para alejarse del pulido comercial de "Nevermind", pienso yo y a pesar de una carrera relativamente corta (solo siete años), el impacto de Nirvana fue inmenso. Hey there, Music Zones. When talking about grunge, it's impossible not to think of Nirvana, and this time I want to share one of my favorite songs, “Very Ape,” from Nirvana's third and final studio album, In Utero, released in 1993. At less than two minutes long, it's a concise explosion of the rawness and intensity that characterize much of that album. Musically, “Very Ape” is direct and abrasive. It features a heavy, dissonant guitar riff, Dave Grohl's powerful drumming, and Kurt Cobain's distinctive voice, which oscillates between melodic singing and visceral screaming. The song fits perfectly with the “rawer” sound Nirvana was seeking on “In Utero” to distance themselves from the commercial polish of “Nevermind,” I think, and despite a relatively short career (only seven years), Nirvana's impact was immense. Their music, introspective lyrics, and the figure of Kurt Cobain as an anti-hero resonated deeply with millions of people, dealing with themes such as alienation, frustration, and social criticism.
