I stretch my sine across a fearsome gap where mist and purple flame churn down below awaiting the inevitable snap of wave-soul stretched too thin — into the glow: then plunges ego-remnants to the char — immortal furnace, melt to newborn star. That horrid fate I know, yet I deny with stoic countenance the creeping wane of youthful strength, and utter not a cry for death to pleasure from, that reaper'd bane that piles high the pressure on my wave until only philosophy can save.
