Bienvenidos a una nueva edición de ["**Letras inspiradoras**"](https://ecency.com/hive-139925/@syllem/una-nueva-columna-ha-llegado), esta columna que me ha regalado tantas satisfacciones al leerlos y aprender de ustedes. Me gusta tratar temas ligeros, llenos de optimismo y agradecimiento, porque pienso que agradecer nos conecta con la abundancia y la buena disposición para recibir más de la vida. Sin embargo, hoy trataré un tema que puede ser algo polémico, que se me ocurrió después de leer algunas publicaciones en las que trataba de justificarse la alegría por la ilusión de la Navidad y la esperanza de que cosas buenas ocurran, porque podría ofender a alguien. Yo misma al escribir algunas de mis publicaciones, intentaba suavizar el optimismo que sentía, por no ser desconsiderada. Es algo como: Aunque me sienta bien debería ocultarlo porque no todos están bien. Así que compartiré algunos de mis pensamientos al respecto. ¡Comencemos!

Welcome to a new edition of [“**Inspiring Letters**”](https://ecency.com/hive-139925/@syllem/un-new-column-has-arrived), this column that has given me so much satisfaction reading and learning from you. I like to deal with light topics, full of optimism and gratitude, because I think that gratitude connects us with abundance and the willingness to receive more from life. However, today I will deal with a topic that may be somewhat controversial, which occurred to me after reading some publications in which I tried to justify the joy for the illusion of Christmas and the hope that good things happen, because it could offend someone. I myself when writing some of my posts, I was trying to soften the optimism I felt, not to be inconsiderate. It's something like: even if I feel good I should hide it because not everyone is doing well. So I'll share some of my thoughts on that. Let's get started!

Cada fin de año, de alguna manera, cerramos un ciclo y muchos de nosotros nos proponemos metas para alcanzar el siguiente año, incluso decimos con mucha convicción, porque realmente lo creemos: "Vienen tiempos mejores". En la oficina por lo general somos optimistas, así como en mi círculo de afectos, lo que agradezco a Dios, porque es muy difícil estar muy cerca de personas que se enfocan sólo en el lado oscuro de las cosas. Si bien es cierto que gente parte de este mundo todos los días, no es menos cierto que nacen bebés todos los días. Mientras muchas personas ponen fin a una relación, muchas otras inician una. Hay quienes pierden la esperanza, pero también hay quienes finalmente despiertan sus ganas de vivir. Amor-odio, guerra-paz, carencia-abundancia, cordura-locura... Todos los extremos que podamos imaginar coexisten sobre la faz de la tierra, desde el inicio de los tiempos, no es algo que podamos cambiar, tampoco es algo nuevo. Solo podemos mejorar nuestro entorno con nuestras acciones, pero son cambios imperceptibles, como alegrarle el día a alguien o mostrar la luz de la esperanza a quien no la veía.

Every year-end, in some way, we close a cycle and many of us set goals to achieve the following year, even saying with great conviction, because we really believe it: “Better times are coming”. In the office we are generally optimistic, as well as in my circle of affection, which I thank God for, because it is very difficult to be very close to people who focus only on the dark side of things. While it is true that people leave this world every day, it is no less true that babies are born every day. While many people end a relationship, many others start one. There are those who lose hope, but there are also those who finally awaken their will to live. Love-hate, war-peace, lack-abundance, sanity-craziness... All the extremes we can imagine coexist on the face of the earth, since the beginning of time, it is not something we can change, nor is it something new. We can only improve our environment with our actions, but they are imperceptible changes, like brightening someone's day or showing the light of hope to those who did not see it.

Con frecuencia podemos preguntarnos: ¿Cómo puedo ser feliz cuando hay tanto dolor en el mundo? Pienso que ya es bastante con lo que a cada uno de nosotros le toca sufrir, como para querer adoptar el sufrimiento de todos. Es algo insostenible, es como morir en vida. Creo que ninguna buena persona te agradecería que seas infeliz por ella. Nadie de buen corazón querría que alguien sufra por sus penas. No es una tarea fácil, no puedo evitar sentirme mal si veo a alguien hurgando en la basura, un niño en las calles o a alguien luchando por su vida contra una enfermedad; pero tengo que seguir viviendo a pesar de eso, así como vivo sabiendo que nací para morir. Simplemente hay realidades que debemos pasar a un segundo plano, hacer lo mejor que podamos en cada caso y soltar lo que no podamos controlar. Para mí no tiene sentido vivir torturándome por algo que no depende de mí. Además, también es justo agradecer por lo que recibo. Una vez leí aquí en Hive una publicación de alguien que decía que por mucho tiempo se había opacado para no molestar a los demás, porque había aprendido que su brillo era como un insulto. También sé de mujeres que mutilan sus capacidades sólo para que su pareja se sienta superior. ¿Se imaginan lo que es vivir así? Pienso que si a alguien le molesta tu éxito o tu dicha, simplemente no te aprecia ni un poquito. Creo que nacimos para amar y servir, pero quien ama y sirve es feliz y desde esa felicidad puede dar lo mejor de sí.

We can often ask ourselves: How can I be happy when there is so much pain in the world? I think that it is enough with what each one of us has to suffer, without wanting to adopt the suffering of all. It is something unsustainable, it is like dying in life. I don't think any good person would thank you for being unhappy for them. No one with a good heart would want someone to suffer for their sorrows. It's not an easy task, I can't help but feel bad if I see someone scavenging in the garbage, a child on the streets or someone fighting for their life against a disease; but I have to go on living in spite of that, just as I live knowing that I was born to die. There are simply realities that we must put on the back burner, do the best we can in each case and let go of what we cannot control. For me it makes no sense to live torturing myself for something that does not depend on me. In addition, it is also fair to be thankful for what I receive. I once read here on Hive a post by someone who said that for a long time he had dulled himself so as not to bother others, because he had learned that his brightness was like an insult. I also know of women who mutilate their capabilities just to make their partner feel superior. Can you imagine what it's like to live like that? I think if someone is bothered by your success or your joy, they just don't appreciate you one bit. I believe that we were born to love and serve, but those who love and serve are happy and from that happiness can give the best of themselves.

No quiero extenderme más acerca de este tema y sé que muchos de ustedes saben manejar muy bien esas situaciones en las que la alegría de unos, parece una bofetada para otros. Todos podemos aprender de todos y la idea es compartir herramientas que nos ayuden a vivir con menos culpa y más paz. Cuéntanos: ## ¿Has sentido que tu alegría ofende a otros? ## ¿Cómo manejas ese sentimiento contradictorio que surge cuando estas bien, sabiendo que hay personas que están mal? ## ¿Piensas que a pesar de todo lo que ocurre en el mundo se puede vivir a plenitud? Puedes formular el tema como mejor te parezca, lo que surja de tu corazón, no necesariamente tienes que responder a las preguntas planteadas. I don't want to dwell any longer on this subject and I know that many of you know how to handle very well those situations in which the joy of some seems like a slap in the face to others. We can all learn from each other and the idea is to share tools that help us live with less guilt and more peace.
