My name is Poncho, mom is always at home, she takes care of me and my dad, she keeps the house clean and tidy and makes sure we eat well and prepares delicious meals for us. She rarely lets me go out to play with my friends, she says there are many dangers, but sometimes I feel very lonely, it's as if I had an eternal punishment, I'm a big boy and I know how to take care of myself. >Mi nombre es Poncho, mamá siempre está en casa, cuida de mí y de mi papá, mantiene la casa limpia y ordenada y se asegura que comamos bien y nos prepara ricas comidas. >Rara vez me deja salir a jugar con mis amiguitos, ella dice que hay muchos peligros, pero a veces me siento muy solito es como si tuviera un eterno castigo, ya estoy grande yo se cuidarme solo.

When I am bored I write letters to my magic fairy, I ask her for many wishes, I would like to be big and play with my little friends. Since I was 7 years old I write to her, but she has never answered me, I start to believe that she doesn't exist but in my dreams. Now that I am 14 years old, I still have the same desires, but now I spend my time dreaming, dreaming, dreaming of exploring the world and having a lot of fun. Maybe one day I will be able to go out and play with my little friends. Maybe when I grow up I'll be able to do whatever I want, but in the meantime I take advantage of my parents' sleep to escape for a while through the window and sit and watch the stars, looking for my magic fairy. >Cuando estoy aburrido escribo cartas a mi hada mágica, le pido muchos deseos, quisiera ser grande y jugar con mis amiguitos. Desde que tenía 7 años le escribo, pero nunca me ha respondido, empiezo a creer que no existe sino en mis sueños. >Ahora que tengo 14 años, sigo teniendo los mismos deseos, pero ahora me la paso soñando, soñando, sueño con explorar el mundo y divertirme mucho. Quizá algún día pueda salir a jugar con mis amiguitos. Quizá cuando crezca podré hacer todo lo que quiera, pero mientras aprovecho mientras mis padres duermen para escapar un rato por la ventana y sentarme a ver las estrellas, en busca de mi hada mágica.

Today when I was coming home from school something strange happened to me, the stack of letters to my fairy godmother had disappeared, I felt very sad, I asked my mom if cleaning my room she took them and she said no, my father didn't go either, maybe someone came through the window and took them away, I feel very sad.... But if... What if it was my fairy godmother? I must be dreaming. I continued to write daily to my fairy godmother, but when I came home from school, the letters disappeared where I had left them. If it was her who took them she would have granted me my wishes, but it is not like that, maybe I should stop writing to her, maybe someone is making fun of me. After a few days, very tired, I stopped writing to my fairy godmother and I did not know how to entertain my thoughts and my time, my wishes were fading away and as each one was lost, I became sad. >Hoy cuando llegaba de la escuela me pasó algo extraño, la pila de cartas a mi hada madrina habían desaparecido, me sentí muy triste, le pregunté a mi mamá si limpiando mi cuarto las tomó y me dijo que no, mi padre tampoco fue, quizá alguien entró por la ventana y se las llevó, me siento muy triste... Pero si... ¿Y si fue mi hada madrina? Debo estar soñando. >Continué escribiendo a diario a mi hada madrina, pero cuando llegaba de la escuela, las cartas desaparecían donde las había dejado. Si fuera ella quien se las llevó me hubiera concedido mis deseos, pero no es así, quizá deba dejar de escribirle, tal vez alguien se esté burlando de mí. >A los días muy cansado dejé de escribirle a mi hada madrina y no sabía en que entretener mis pensamientos y mi tiempo, mis deseos se fueron esfumando y como cada uno se fue perdiendo me fui entristeciendo.

My curiosity for the world is growing a lot, every day I try a little bit to go further. When I was coming home from school, I got distracted chasing a seed that was floating in the wind, I wanted to catch it but I failed, when I looked up there she was.... The cutest little frog I ever saw, she looked at me too, I think my eyes were going to pop out of my sockets as well as my heart out of my chest, she smiled at me and I felt like I was floating like a feather in the sky, I ran home scared and locked myself in the room. The next day back to school, I went back to the same place to see if I was lucky enough to see her again, there she was without a doubt, she was the most beautiful frog of all. I stood watching her with my mouth open and a silly face, I could not even explain what was happening to me, I think I have fallen in love, all of a sudden? She greeted me, said hello and my heart exploded. I was supposed to say something to her, at least ask her name but I was afraid if I opened my mouth it would come out, crickets and fireflies. After a while she spoke to me again and I struggled not to run away. She told me I am Aurora and I am 16 years old. What a beautiful name like her, I realized she is older than me, maybe she thinks I am a kid, I will lie about my age. I told her my name is Poncho and I was the same age as her. I had to leave soon my mom was going to notice my tardiness so I said goodbye. When I got home my worried mother scolded me, I wanted to tell her what happened to me but I was afraid she would punish me. >Mi curiosidad por el mundo está creciendo mucho, cada día trato un poquito de ir más allá. Cuando volvía de la escuela a mi casa, me distraje persiguiendo una semilla que flotaba en el viento, quise atraparla pero fallé, cuando levanté la mirada allí estaba ella... La ranita más linda que nunca vi, ella también me miró, creo que mis ojos se iban a salir de mis cuencas así como mi corazón del pecho, ella me sonrió y sentí que estaba flotando como una pluma en el cielo, salí corriendo a casa asustado y me encerré en el cuarto. >Al día siguiente de regreso a clase, volví a pasar por el mismo lugar para ver si tenía la suerte de verla de nuevo, allí estaba sin lugar a dudas era ella, la ranita más hermosa de todas. Me quedé observándola con la boca abierta y cara de bobo, ni siquiera podía explicar lo que me estaba pasando, creo que me he enamorado, de pronto... Ella me saludó, me dijo hola y mi corazón explotó. >Debía decirle algo, al menos preguntarle su nombre pero temía que si abría mi boca saliera, grillos y luciérnagas. Al cabo de un rato ella volvió a hablarme y luché para no salir corriendo. Me dijo soy Aurora y tengo 16 años. Qué nombre tan hermoso como ella, me di cuenta que es mayor que yo, quizá crea que soy un niño, mentiré sobre mi edad. Le dije que mi nombre es Poncho y que tenía la misma edad que ella. Debía irme pronto mi mamá se iba a dar cuenta de mi atraso así que me despedí. Al llegar a casa mi mamá preocupada me regañó, quise contarle lo que me pasó pero tenía miedo que me castigara.

For at least a week, every day I would stop by to say hello to Aurora, my heart would always race when I saw her. When I got home, mom always lectured me and I just dreamed, I wondered, should I confess my love to Aurora? Should I tell my parents? Maybe I should talk to my fairy godmother, but I won't write to her, they will steal her letters, this time I will tell her when the night comes, I will sit on the bench and looking at the stars, I will tell my story, maybe she will listen to me. >Por al menos una semana, todos los días pasaba a saludar a Aurora, mi corazón siempre al verla latía a prisa. Al llegar a casa, siempre mamá me sermoneaba y yo simplemente soñaba, me pregunto ¿Debo confesarle mi amor a Aurora? ¿Debo decirle a mis padres? >Tal vez deba hablar con mi hada madrina, pero no le escribiré me robarán sus cartas, esta vez le diré al llegar la noche, me sentaré en el banco y mirando las estrellas, contaré mi historia, quizá así me escuche.

When night came, I waited for my parents to sleep and slipped out of the window to talk to my fairy godmother and ask her for my wishes. — Fairy godmother, your letters have been stolen from me, but I still think you exist, I want to make a wish: I want to be handsome so that Aurora will fall in love with me. >Al llegar la noche, esperé que mis padres durmieran y me escabullí por la ventana para hablar con mi hada madrina y pedirle mis deseos. >— Hada madrina, me han robado tus cartas, pero sigo pensando que existes, quiero pedirte un deseo: quiero ser apuesto para que Aurora se enamore de mí.
I slept thinking maybe she heard me, so the next day after returning from school I visited Aurora at the same place. >Dormí pensando que tal vez ella me escuchó, así que al día siguiente luego de regresar de la escuela visité a Aurora en el mismo lugar.

We were talking, I lost track of time, for me it had stopped, I could not stop admiring her beauty and her huge red eyes. I sighed like crazy, and suddenly as if by magic the moon fell on us. Nervous I said goodbye to her and ran home, a big punishment and a scolding awaited me, I'm sure. >Estuvimos conversando, perdí la noción del tiempo, para mí este se había detenido, yo no dejaba de admirar su belleza y sus enormes ojos rojos. Suspiraba como loco, y de pronto como si fuera acto de magia la luna cayó sobre nosotros. >Nervioso me despedí de ella y salí corriendo a mi casa, me esperaba un gran castigo y un regaño, estoy seguro.

I'm scared to death, what should I do? I'm going to be punished, I'm sure I won't be able to see her again. When I got home, my mom and dad were waiting for me sitting in the chair, waiting for my explanation. I had no choice but to confess the truth. They were silent for a while, in my gut it seemed that the bugs I ate for lunch came to life. After a few minutes I was surprised by their answers. Mom told me that she felt sad because I hid what I was doing and something bad could have happened to me and my dad told me that I am too young to fall in love. They asked me her name and I told them, they recognized her and told me that she is much older than me and very precocious, they talked to me about many things but I didn't understand much, I didn't understand if their answer was to stay away from her or if I was punished, I just continued doing what I was doing, but now it seems that they didn't tell me anything more than: "Take care of yourself" with some concern in their faces. >Estoy muerto de miedo ¿Qué debo hacer? Me van a castigar, seguro no podré verla de nuevo. >Cuando llegué a la casa, mi mamá y mi papá me esperaban sentados en la silla, esperando mi explicación. No me quedó otra que confesar la verdad. Ellos se quedaron en silencio un rato, en mis tripas parecía que los bichos que me comí de almuerzo cobraban vida. Al cabo de unos minutos me sorprendió sus respuestas. Mamá me dijo que se sentía triste porque oculté lo que estaba haciendo y pudo haberme pasado algo malo y mi papá me dijo que soy muy joven para enamorarme. >Me preguntaron el nombre de ella y se los dije, la reconocieron y me dijeron que es mucho mayor que yo además de muy precoz, me hablaron de muchas cosas pero yo no entendí mucho, tampoco entendí si su respuesta era que me alejara de ella o si estaba castigado, solo continúe haciendo lo que hacía, pero ahora parece que ellos no me decían más nada que: "Cuídate" con cierta preocupación en sus caras.

I forgot everything, the world, even my parents. Decided, when I leave class, I will confess my love for Aurora. I was filled with doubts and insecurities, maybe she will realize that I am younger than her, maybe she doesn't think I am handsome enough, my fairy godmother didn't fulfill any of my wishes, maybe I should forget about her. >Me olvidé de todo, del mundo, incluso de mis padres. Decidido, al salir de clase, le confesaré mi amor por Aurora. >Me llené de dudas e inseguridades, quizá se de cuenta que soy menor que ella, quizá no me crea lo suficientemente apuesto, mi hada madrina no me cumplió ninguno de mis deseos, quizá deba olvidarme de ella.

Evening fell and on my way home, I met Aurora and confessed my love for her. At first I was afraid but she came closer to me and gave me my first kiss. What a magical moment! I felt my legs trembling, my heart a to burst out of my chest and I gave myself up in a long sigh, floating on a cloud, trying to understand everything that was happening. I couldn't believe that Aurora, the prettiest little frog in the whole swamp was saying yes to me and becoming my girlfriend. >Cayó la tarde y camino a casa, me encontré con Aurora y le confesé mi amor por ella. Al principio tuve miedo pero ella se acercó a mi y me dio mi primer beso. >¡Qué mágico momento! Sentí que mis piernas temblaban, mi corazón una a salir de mi pecho y me entregué en un suspiro largo, flotando en una nube, tratando de comprender todo lo que estaba pasando. >No podía creer que Aurora, la ranita más bonita de todo el pantano me dijera que sí y se convirtiera en mi novia.

My eyes were shining like the universe full of stars. My hands were sweating, water was falling like waterfalls and she was... More beautiful than the sun itself. Days went by and she only wanted to kiss me, I wanted to play, I wanted her company, to talk to someone, to contemplate her, that made me happy. It seems that my attitude made her a little uncomfortable, but I confess that I was very curious, she is very different from me in many aspects. Whatever she asked me to do I did, as long as it didn't take me too long to go home, my parents had given me confidence for the first time and I didn't want to disrespect them. Maybe they realized once and for all that I was no longer a child. >Mis ojos brillaban como el universo lleno de estrellas. Mis manos sudaban, caía agua como cataratas y ella... Mas bella que el mismo sol. >Pasaron los días ella solo quería besarme, yo quería jugar, quería su compañía, hablar con alguien, contemplarla, eso me hacía feliz. Parece que mi actitud la incomodaba un poco, pero confieso que tenía mucha curiosidad, ella es muy diferente a mí en muchos aspectos. >Todo lo que ella me pedía que hiciera lo hacía, mientras que no me tomara mucho tiempo de regresar a casa, mis padres me habían dado confianza por primera vez y no quería faltar a su respeto. Quizá se dieron cuenta de una vez que ya no soy un niño.

One day she told me that she wanted to show me something, then she indicated that she had it inside her underwear, I was so curious to see how different it is from me that I agreed to look, I was very afraid, because she started kissing me and I decided to run away. It seemed to me that there are things that are for big people, I was afraid. I got home and started thinking about everything. I loved Aurora but there were things that were definitely not right, I felt bad for lying to her about my age. So the next day, I promised myself that I would confess the truth to her, if she loves me like I love her, she will understand. >Todo transcurría muy aprisa, a veces me parecía que ella iba muy rápido pero yo curioso siempre explorando. Un día me dijo que quería mostrarme algo, luego me indicó que lo tenía dentro de su ropa interior, yo tenía tanta curiosidad de ver qué tan diferente es de mí que acepté mirar, tuve mucho miedo, pues ella comenzó a besarme y decidí salir corriendo. Me pareció que hay cosas que son para gente grande, tuve miedo. >Llegué a casa y me puse a pensar en todo. Amaba a Aurora pero habían cosas que no estaban bien definitivamente, me sentía mal por haberle mentido sobre mi edad. Así que al siguiente día, me prometí que le confesaría la verdad, si ella me ama como yo a ella, lo entenderá.

The next day after school I went to see her, but to my surprise, she was talking to another frog and she completely despised me, I tried to explain but she didn't listen to me, she told me it was all over. My heart broke into a thousand heavy ones. Very sad I went back home, I did not care that nobody saw my tears, I remembered my fairy, I remembered that she never existed, maybe Aurora never loved me, mom and dad were right, she is older than me and very precocious, I learned the meaning, I learned the lesson. The days went by, I went back to my routine, the days became gray, but little by little I went back to the activities I did before. I concentrated on my dreams, with time I forgot about Aurora.... My parents let me go out more often, but close and for short moments, that made me feel better, although there was something that caused me even more sadness. My fairy godmother never listened to me, she didn't even read me, where did all my letters go? >Al día siguiente luego de la escuela fui a verla, pero para mi sorpresa, estaba hablando con otra ranita y me despreció por completo, intenté explicarle pero no me escucho, me dijo que todo terminó. Mi corazón se quebró en mil pesados. >Muy triste me regreso a casa, no me importó que nadie viera mis lágrimas, recordé a mi hada, recordé que nunca existió, quizá Aurora nunca me quiso, papá y mamá tenían razón ella es mayor que yo además de muy precoz, aprendí el significado, aprendí la lección. >Pasaron los días, volví a mi rutina, los días se hicieron grises, pero poco a poco fui retomando las actividades que hacía antes. >Me concentré en mis sueños, con el tiempo me fui olvidando de Aurora... >Mis padres, me dejaban salir con mayor frecuencia, pero cerca y por cortos momentos, eso me hizo sentir mejor, aunque había algo que me causaba aun más tristeza. >Mi hada madrina nunca me escuchó, es más ni siquiera me leyó, ¿A dónde fueron a parar todas mis cartas?

One day when I felt my world was coming down on me because of sadness, a big light illuminated my room, I couldn't believe what was happening, the bright light was showing little by little a beautiful fairy, I jumped with emotion! It's her, it's her, it's my fairy godmother! I knew you existed, but you took too long. She smiled at me and said: — Even in the moments when you lost your faith I was there, I never abandoned you, your wishes each one I fulfilled without your knowledge. I answered her: — But how? She answered me: — When you asked me to let your parents let you go out, every day you went adventuring a little more, and you met Aurora. With Aurora you explored the world and the universe, you met me directly because I am magic and love. You asked me to be handsome so that she would love you and simply magic acted, you gained the trust of your parents and even in those moments I was there. I answered: — What's it worth to me if Aurora doesn't love me and abandoned me? My magic fairy smiled at me and answered: — Every choice we make shows us a lesson, you learned from your mistakes, and even in them you were never alone, I was always there. Do you know why? Because magic is in everything, love is magic and I am love, love dwells in you and in trusting yourself, I will always be with you inside your heart, that is why it is important that you love yourself, because I will always live in you. Everything that happens in our lives is magic, because life is a miracle, everything is full of magic. To love is a virtue, to live each experience transforms us, enriches us, your dreams can always come true, working for them every day as you did. ### I am and always will be, never stop believing.

Ella me sonrió y me dijo: >— Hasta en los momentos en que perdiste tu fe estuve yo, nunca te abandoné, tus deseos cada uno los cumplí sin tu saber. >Le contesté: — Pero ¿Cómo? >Ella me respondió: >— Cuando me pediste que tus padres te dejaran salir, cada día te fuiste aventurando un poco más, y conociste a Aurora. Con Aurora exploraste el mundo y el universo, me conociste directamente porque yo soy magia y amor. >Me pediste que fueras apuesto para que ella te quisiera y simplemente la magia actuó, te ganaste la confianza de tus padres y hasta en esos momentos estuve yo. >Le contesté: — ¿De qué me vale si Aurora no me quiere y me abandonó? >Mi hada mágica me sonrío y contesto: >— Cada elección que tomamos nos muestra una lección, aprendiste de tus errores, y hasta en ellos nunca estuviste solo, siempre estuve yo. ¿Sabes por qué? >Porque la magia está en todo, el amor es magia y yo soy amor, el amor habita en ti y en la confianza en ti mismo, siempre estaré contigo dentro de tu corazón, por eso es importante que te ames, porque siempre viviré en ti. >Todo lo que ocurra en nuestras vidas es mágico, por que la vida es un milagro, todo está lleno de magia. >Amar es una virtud, vivir cada experiencia nos transforma, nos enriquece, tus sueños siempre pueden hacerse realidad, trabajando por ellos cada día como lo hiciste tú. > ### Estoy y siempre estaré, nunca dejes de creer.
