You’re dazed ... plane crash ... confused ... little plastic men ... You sniff the air. gas. You look over and see it dripping. Turning your head the opposite way ... Jefferson ... unconscious. ... Our equipment. You sniff the air again. Methane Your body jolts you awake.
"OH SHIT!!! METHANE! GET THE FUCK OUT!"
Tio holds up four gas masks.
"Put 'em on,” he says.
"What 'bout 'em?" Tres says fully tripping, "no commander ... no ship."
You see Jefferson’s out cold.
"We'll come back. Let’s get the equipment first," you say kicking the window out. Climbing out, you step onto soggy, mushy, green ground. Looking around you see piles — hills — of plastic and other trash creating the island landscape.
Thirty-five feet away you find a large steel plate and you unload the gear. You’re about to head back to the plane when you hear a high-pitched cackling laugh.
Jefferson sings out, "You better find somebody to L —"
The ground explodes, catapulting everyone swirling high into the air. You land on one of your knees next to your mates on several sprawled out bed mattresses four football fields away from the crash site. A black cloud of smoke with streaks of greens, reds, and purples funnels upward.
Before you have a chance to collect your thoughts, a stubby, fat little plastic man with a yellow mop for hair rolls up on you.
"Look at what you have done to my wall. Trash-eaters on the other side will bring in drugs, crime, violence, not to mention diseases," he says, his plastic red, beady eyes staring intently at you. "You are," red smoke exits from the top of his plastic head, "the reason THIS trash heap with Never be great again!"
Completely dazed, you extend out a hand hoping he’ll help you up.
"This is absolutely terrible!" He bats your hand away. "You can't stay here. Our people are plastic, and you don’t look like us! I, McDonald, the irresistible magnet, am going to have you deported immediately."
He snaps his fingers. Out of the ground emerge creatures formed from bottles, straws, cans, papers, and unidentifiable goop. Their bodies drip with the muck you found yourself immersed in earlier.
They wrap their tendrils around you and drag you and your bandmates behind McDonald.
Tres says, "The sky is filled with dancing iguanas ... a green mohawk turns into gremlins. And ... Over there ... man ... shitter readin' him a newsflopper ... The Man in Black ... holds out his middle finger ... luminescent morning rainbows ... coming down ..."
“Nothin’ but straight white clouds, gummy-tripper,” Machete says.
You don’t wait to be dragged to wherever he is taking you. You break free of the creature realizing it’s not very strong. You release your mates as you kick and punch your way through their ranks. You all run like a bat fleeing hell to the other side of the island.
There, you catch your breath and notice a large pile of plastic bottles trapped inside a net floating like a raft. Beyond it you see a rusty cargo ship passing by.
“Hey, look at this,” Machete says picking up a rusty radio. “It still works!”

Haiku - These are coming out every couple days or so. If you stuggle with rhymes, no worries. Haikus don't have to rhyme. All you need to make a haiku is five syllable on the first, seven syllables in the second line, and again back to five syllable for the last line. So easy it makes me think I'm being super product. LOL
Mizu No Oto - Every Image Has Its Haiku Contest - By reading the title, you should be able to guess how this haiku contest works. You're given an image and you write. I've really enjoy this contest because there are people here who've actually gone to classes to learn how to write haiku's; so if you want, you also can learn how to write quality haikus from reading the comments and critiques they and others give.
