How to Remember Names: Paul Bettany (The Vision)

We continue our series with Marvel movie actors who have't got their own movies yet. One very important is The Vision played by Paul Bettany. He is wearing one of the infinity stones on his forehead and that makes him a direct target for Thanos in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War movie. Anyhow, I bet that most of you didn't know his actual real life name, unlike all the A-List actors from the MCU. So let's memorize now!

Wir fahren unsere Serie mit Marvel-Schauspielern fort die bisher keine eigenen Filme hatten. Ein sehr wichtiger Charakter ist The Vision, gespielt von Paul Bettany. Er trägt einen der Infinity Stones auf seiner Stirn und wird daher bald ein Ziel von Thanos in dem kommenden Avengers: Infinity War werden. Wie dem auch sei, ihr kennt vermutlich seinen Namen noch nicht, anders als die ganzen A-List Schaupspieler aus dem MCU.

The Person

I have to repeat that over and over for new readers: To memorize a name you need to translate it into keywords and connect them to the face or body of the person. For Paul Bettany we could use his blond hair or the glasses he usually is wearing. But since he is famous for his role of The Vision, we will imagine him like that, with his funny purple skin and the cape.

Family Name: Bettany

His family name is at first look more difficult. But if you concentrate on the phonetic of it you will quickly come up with the word botany. That is pretty abstract but can easily be translated into flowers for example.

Sein Nachname klingt im Englischen wie botany (Botanik). Auf Deutsch können wir aber auch Bett verwenden. Falls dir noch weitere ähnliche Worte einfallen, kannst du sie gerne mit uns in dem Kommentaren teilen.

The Memory Story

The Vision is balancing a crystal ball on his hands and arms, like a so-called contact juggler. He throws it up and wants to catch it with his cape but it slides through and crashes and the ground into a million pieces. Out of each piece grows a flower creating a botanical garden around him. Wonderful!

The Vision balanciert eine Kristallkugel (ball) auf seinem Körper, wie ein Kontakt-Jonglierer. Er wirft sie hoch und versucht sie mit dem Umhang zu fangen, doch sie gleitet durch und zerplatzt auf dem Boden in tausend Scherben. Aus jeder Scherbe wächst eine Blume und erschafft einen Botanischen garten um ihn herum. Wundervoll!
