How to Remember Names: Zoe Saldana (Gamorra)

Knowing your super heroes is one thing. But do you know the actors names? In this series you will learn how to memorize all their names and get insights into memory techniques will doing so. In this post we are dealing with the beautiful Zoe Saldana who plays Gamorra in Guardian's of the Galaxy.

The Person

Step one is always to find a good anchor point for our names keywords. Since the super heroes are very unique looking and we already associate them with the actors in the first place, we will use that to our advantage. Zoe's green-skinned alter ego Gamorra is perfect to imagine and will surely not be confused.

This series is really asking a lot from my creative skills. Breaking the name apart into its phonetics and comparing it with similar words in the English language leads to just one word: Zoo. If you have more ideas, please let me know in the comments.

Diese Serie verlangt viel von meinen kreativen Fähigkeiten. Wenn wir ihren Namen phonetisch analysieren und mit ähnlichen Wörtern aus der Deutschen Sprache vergleichen, kommt lediglich Zoo bei heraus. Findest du noch bessere Wörter?

Family Name: Saldana

Her family name reminds me right away of salt, sold out and salto (Spanish for jumping). Even though salt is pretty short and lacks the ending of her name, I think it is a good image and will suffice as a reminder to reconstruct it.

Ihr Familienname erinnert mich im Deutschen an Salto, Saldo und Salz Düne. Ich habe im Englischen den Begriff salt (Salz) gewählt. Obwohl dieser das Ende ihres Namens nicht kodiert, sollte das trotzdem als Erinnerung reichen.

The Memory Story

Gamorra is being locked into a cage in a zoo by some evil villains. Her green skin is an attraction. But she uses some Himalaya salt to rub it onto her skin, dying it pink. Now she picklocks the cage and escapes unnoticed.

Gamorra wurde von Schurken in einen Käfig im Zoo gesperrt, weil ihre grüne Haut eine Attraktion ist. Aber sie nimmt Himalaya-Salz und färbt ihre Haut pink. Nun knackt sie das Schloss und entkommt ungesehen.
