In one of the 2018 most anticipated movie; Black Panther, black Hollywood actors took the show in the Marvel/Now Disney Owned Super-Hero Franchise. A first all black feature cast and director, Black Panther has gathered a movement and has been embrace by the Black communities all over the World.
Tagged as a big break for the Black actors community, it will not come as surprise to you all that five of the movie casts are Nigerians. Let's meet this representatives of the most populous Black Nation on the Big screen.
AMECHI OKOCHA
Best known for his roles in the 2013 movie "Speechless", now he plays the Role of BUEZE in Black Panther. The American-Born Nigerian actor had appeared in several films since 2012 but became known with speechless.
DAVID OPEGBEMI
He is one of the Jabari Warriors(An non-credited cast) in the movie. Aside from playing the role of club patron in the 2017 Television Series Empire, a little is known of this hunky actor till Black Panther.
TARI OMORO JR.
Also an uncredited cast, Tari Played a Jabari Tribe Drummer in the Blockbuster movie, although he was a member of the Jumanji; Welcome to the Jungle Crew; not much is known of his acting career. An American of Nigerian descent, he was swayed into acting while studying to be a computer scientist at the Tyler Junior College.
TUNDE LALEYE
Uncredited cast as well, he is a Border Tribes man in the movie. A registered Nurse cum actor who studied the Eric Morris process of acting and has featured in several films and Television series like Zoo and MacGyver. He completed his high school education in The United States after his whole family relocating back 1997.
SOPE ALUKO
You will remember her from Pitch Perfect 2, The Good lie, 96 minutes and Identity Thief. Now she plays the role of Shaman in the Super hero movie. The mother of two is Nigerian Born and Multi-lingual, speaking 3 natives languages with Yoruba her dialect and with two degrees in Marketing and Engineering; still, she had her drama education at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts(LAMDA). She is a talk talent host and a soap opera expert as well.
This guys all featured in the all Black cast super-hero movie(Credited or not) and we sure are as proud as an African as anyone would be!
