This week I thought I would write a short story in exactly #fiftywords (the challenge allows for entries between 50 and 1500 words). This is not an entry for the current challenge by @miniature-tiger, if you like 50 word stories please check his current challenge out, you can also find my entry to the current challenge (my story is called "Brat!") here

“Volunteers wanted! Cash paid!”
Hungry, desperate, broke, he signed up.
“It’s called Mind Rising,” the white coated woman said.
“We upload your consciousness onto a chip.”
“What have I got to lose?” he said.
“Nothing,” she said. “If it works.”
He didn’t read the small print.
He lost his mind.
