I say you should comment more as I think this is under-used here. I see many posts on the Hot page with hundreds of votes, but few, or zero comments. Make people feel appreciated with a comment and get a conversation going.
We've made it to Friday without a nuclear war. Always a bonus :) It's a week when Steem has gone up again. I think it will go higher in the long run, but I'm quite happy to see my account valued at over $2000.
Steem is getting more visitors too. You may just be able to see the tiny up-turn in the Alexa graph. We're gaining users, but there have been some sign-up issues lately. We should hit 150k users soon, but Mastodon passed that last week and is already past 400k now! They have the advantage of some media coverage, but also benefit from the tech/geek community talking about them as a cool thing to get into. Steemit needs a similar buzz.
So I'll kick off this Follow Friday with some influential people who could help to drive Steemit adoption:
- @lloyddavis is a blogger, campaigner and facilitator based in London. He's been on Steemit for a while, but deserves a bigger following.
- @dickturpin (aka Peter Cannon) is an active member of the UK open source community. He's blogged and run podcasts for years. I met him a few years back at a conference, but we've been chatting on Mastodon and I persuaded him to sign up.
- @uwelang is a blogger and social media enthusiast from Germany. I've yet to meet him, but we've known each other for a while since we met up on Tsu. He's been promoting Steemit across various other services and encouraging some weekly photo themes here.
- @shayne is a vlogger and artist who talks a lot about cryptocurrency, including Steem
- @marketingmonk also does daily videos about cryptocurrency and has been promoting Steem and Steemit since the start. I learn a lot from listening to his shows in the car.
Please check out this folk and leave them a comment to encourage them. If they spread the word about Steemit it will bring in the next wave of users.
