It barely seems a week since last Friday, but here we are. Do you find that Fridays just feel different to other days? I guess it depends on your working week, but as a Monday to Friday office worker it's just a time to get ready for the weekend.
It's been a good week for Steemit. The Steem price hit its highest price since the very early days. It's dropped since then, but stabilised at a better level than before. If you look at Steem Whales you will see we have around ten Steem millionaires on there. Okay, so some are exchanges that hold a lot and there's the big main @steemit account, but I think we will see a lot of people moving into that club soon.
Around five thousand accounts have been created this week and I would hope that they are mostly real people as they are being manually validated. There may still be a need to clarify this process as they are signing up as I've seen a few coming to the chat asking when they will get access. We're seeing massive growth in posts and comments as a result of this. From what I've seen we are gaining some cool new people and we're not seeing lots of spam yet. There's a danger for a site like this that people will just try begging for votes and follows to try and make a few cents. I have seen some do this and I will try to tell them that's not how it works. Language and cultural differences can make this harder, but so far, so good.
As for the follow suggestions, here are some of the new people I've encountered:
- @marketreport is an established financial Youtuber (50k followers) in who seems to be bringing many of his fans to Steemit. He's already amassed over 1000 followers and looks like he will make a couple of thousand dollars from his first week here! I should think he'll be sticking around.
- @adamhole is a musician from Australia who plays a mean slide guitar.
- @slayerkm is a British vlogger into technology.
- @animal-shelter have been here a few months. They run an animal shelter in Ukraine, but post on various topics. The artist @inber has been supporting and promoting their work.
As always I welcome your suggestions of cool people to check out. By all means do your own posts to help others. Feel free to tag me in those.
Steem on!
