When life gives you pomegranates, make pomegranate smoothies! Good morning steemit!
Finally, the rainy season is coming to an end and fruits are getting back in season. It has been a particularly heavy rainy season with so much water falling out of the sky that at multiple times we had a small river in the backyard.
I am so happy with the change of weather and it feels so good to have sun-packed days again with fresh fruits coming from the garden or local organic farmers.
Can't wait till we have some other fruits than bananas in the garden again... soursop, custard apple, mangoes (although that will still take a few months more), coconut, guava, and much more.
But first things first.... pomegranates are in season now and friend was so kind to share some of her yummy homegrown fruits.
Best breakfast to get some energy for the day.
We are going to Kampot and take a drive up the mountain and national park.... What are you guys up to today?
CRAZY POMEGRANATE MORNING LOVE ღ ღ ღ
INGREDIENTS (SERVES 2 FOR BREAKFAST)
2-3 cups spinach fresh
1-2 cups water
2 oranges, peeled and seeds removed
1-1.5 cup pomegranate seeds
2 bananas, frozen to add extra creaminess and chill the smoothie
2 tbsp hemp seeds
DIRECTIONS
- Blend spinach and water until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend again. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw everything in at once.
- Optional: I topped mine with extra pomegranate arils to add some crunch.
