Happy Food Friday: Stir-Fried Watercress, A Satisfying Vegetable


You're looking for a vegetable with a satisfying texture when chewed in your mouth? And this vegetable taste like mushrooms and chicken?
Then I recommend you to serve WATERCRESS at your dining table.

This vegetable with a crispy stem texture is included in number one on the US Centers for Disease Control's Powerhouse Fruits and Vegetables list, according to [the Healthline](https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/watercress-benefits).
If you are not accustomed to eating vegetables in a salad style with a vegetable flavor that is too light, then you can saute vegetables with olive oil and simple spices.

Watercress is known as a vegetable that has a high content of vitamins K, C, minerals and antioxidants. Vitamin K and minerals to prevent bone loss. Meanwhile, vitamin C and antioxidants help increase body immunity, improve heart health, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
In the following, I will share with you the Stir-Fried Watercress recipe.

Ingredients

- 4 bunch of watercresses
- 5 red chilies
- 3 cloves of red onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 sheet of bay leaf (you can skip this ingredient if you have no bay leaf stock)
- A pinch of salt
- tomato

How to make

- Prepare watercress. Wash thoroughly, then cut into a watercress and discard the old part of the stem.
- Heat the oil.
- Saute red onion and garlic that have been finely chopped.
- Add chopped red chilies and bay leaves.
- Then enter the watercress.
- Saute briefly, then add a little water.
- Add a pinch of salt. Check the taste. Add tomato.
- Cook for about 3 minutes, then remove. Do not overcook because it will damage the crisp texture of the watercress.
- Lift and serve.
