I've been hearing all about these meat-replacement burgers and decided to finally give one a try. Went to the local Burger King yesterday and ordered two sandwiches: the Impossible Whopper and the Bacon King which contains real meat.
The goal was to see if they'd been able to make something that was actually edible and that I'd want to eat. Other vegetable-based sandwiches I'd tried in the past, had fallen short of that goal, and it was time to see if they'd gotten it right.![IMG_20191205_174724029[1].jpg](https://images.ecency.com/p/7ohP4GDMGPrUMp8dW6yuJTR9MKNu8P8DCXDU9qmmh1YdzE9vCvu9VLpXFcDtbFNNHaxgFvnCCHSUvsMfWEAPjyTfjEuadhqhkioC.png?format=match&mode=fit)

Looks like meat to me! But how does it taste?

Saving the Bacon King for last
Now let me say this. If I had been told nothing about either sandwich, I would have been none the wiser. As you can see from the pics, the plant-based burger could pass for the real thing. Visually, it looks a little firmer with a bit more of the sear marks around the edges. It has the texture of a real hamburger, but is a little less moist than the Bacon King. It also seemed to want just a touch more seasoning to excite the taste buds. If they can tweak it just a little bit, they'll really have something.

Face off!

But how did I like it? Overall, I'd have to say, not bad!
Will I try it again? I'd have to say yes, as I believe this is the wave of the future. Knowing that no animal was killed to produce my meal is a plus. With an ever-growing world population, something has to be done to feed the masses. I'm still surprised at how well they've managed to pull off this meat-substitute. I'll still order regular Whopper's, but will fold in this new sandwich from time to time. Looks like the Impossible Whopper is possible after all. What do you think?
