Chapter 11
After a twenty minute walk they passed a smaller lake and stopped by it to have a drink and freshen themselves up from the heat.
“Clean yourself up. Can’t have you running around with a bloodied nose.” James told the guard, splashing some water on his own face. “Alright. Let’s make a plan.” He sat down on the floor, Tom followed suit, and soon after the guard sat down as well. “Is it always you who delivers Cryosatane?”
“For the past two months, yeah.”
“And what’s the procedure, exactly?”
“I just ride to the door and pass the jar to one of the guards. He takes it inside, and the other guard gives me the money. That’s it.”
“And how many guards are there in total?”
“Two at the door, and then one every 30 feet all around the building.”
“How many is that? I need a number.”
“I don’t know. Twelve?”
“Well, there goes the idea of a subtle entry.” James sighed and shook his head. “Tom? Any ideas?”
“I like a challenging game, sure, but that’s twelve players against two in open space. Unless this guy helps us, I got nothing.”
James looked over to the guard who had managed to clean his nose up by then. “What do you say, you want in?”
